Offical eH squad list.
Ok so here goes:
So I find a "nice" ITR for $6800 in Wisconsin. Decide I'm going to buy it after talking to the guy about the car. I asked several questions like, Is it numbers matching? Is there any rust? Clean title? Pic of title? VIN number? etc. All the good questions someone would want to know about a car they are about to pop a rubber band on. I asked Brad to do a little leg work for me and it came up legit. Had rear end damage but nothing structural.
Since I'm selling my Cobalt but havent sold it yet, I had to call the bank to get a loan to get the ITR. They set me up for the loan and are about to cut me a cashiers check, but when I asked the guy for his info, it didnt match the title. Then I find out that the title hasnt been registered because the guy has been running paper plates since his uncle owns a dealer ship. Ok so now im F'd. Sooooo now if I want to get this car I have to pay cash. Great. I dont have 7k layin around. Now im back to going back and forth with the bank trying to make this happen because the only day I could have a ride up there was yesterday. So I had to make some phone calls to see what I could come up with (btw I work a desk job from 8-5 so its hard to be on the phone with so many different ppl and still work) and finally I asked my mom if I could borrow some cash and she had about 3300 to give to me, also my friend Taylor spotted me with 3500.
So now I have cash in hand to get the car!! PUMPED!!!! I call the guy and let him know that ill be there in the morning and I just wanted to double check to make sure the car was clean, and numbers match, and RUST FREE. He said "Ya man its clean for sure, all VINs match and there is NO RUST.
So me and another friend of mine, Andy, leave indy at 7am yesterday morning to head up to Milwaukee, WI (about 5hr 20min drive) to get the car. STILL OMFG PUMPED!! We start gettin closer and Im gettin a little nervous. So I text the guy and tell him we are close. He says he will be there soon, he just needs to find a friend to take him home if I buy the car. I told him well ya because if the car is exactly how you described I will be buying 100%.
So we get to the Mcdonalds we are meeting at and go take a **** and what not until they show up. Walk back outside and see the car pulling up past the parking lot waiting to turn in. It looked soooo clean. I was excited as hell! ....Then he goes to pull into the parking spot right next to where I was standing and BOOM, F*CKING BONER KILL!!!!!!!! I SPOTTED RUST AT THE BOTTOM OF THE QUARTER BEFORE THEY EVEN F*CKING PARKED THE CAR!!! I was like "Dude whats all this? Theres rust all over this car." He was like "Ah man I didnt even see that!" At this point I'm stuck. Then the guy who I had been talking to the whole time (guy who was driving) said "Well actually this isnt my car, its his." and points to his friend who had just got out of the passengers seat... WTF? ok. Sketchy.
So me and Andy started looking it over and it was a complete rust bucket!! The very back of the rear quarters were filled with globs of bondo, the inside of the bottom of the door was rusted, the strut towers were starting to rust where the strut tower brace bolted up, the OEM lower tie bar was RUSTED THRU, the front bumper was all scraped up and the grill was broken, and all the rear suspension components were rusted pretty bad. I was so disappointed. It was such a buzz kill for real. I didnt even want to haggle on price even because the car was so shitty. I mean the rear quarters looked like a Rolo McFlurry!
I made a few phone calls, kicked my feet around a little bit, test drove the car, and finally decided to walk on it (Very hard decision to make). He pulls out the title to show me that its clean and as I was looking at it, I notice that the last person to title the car (original seller) had signed his name in the "purchaser's" spot! ARE YOU FIST F*CKING ME RIGHT NOW!?!?!?! What am I supposed to do with that?? BUT for kicks and giggles, I asked a bottom dollar price to see if I could get it for around 4500. He said his bottom dollar was 6200. I said ok, thanks, and me and Andy hopped back in his murdered Gsr Integra and headed back home. We got stuck in Chicago rush hour traffic for almost 2 hours, stopped at Portillo's to eat, and finally got back home at 11ish.
The trip cost me $150 total for food, gas, etc. and it cost Andy $150 total as he got pulled over within 5 minutes of leaving Indy.
The whole deal was sketchy all in all. Bad experience and a complete waste of my time and money even tho I got to drive an R model acura.

Honestly, it didnt even cross my mind to be pissed off. I was that disappointed. Being pissed off set in on the way home and more-so today.
Lol ya no ****. That would have been entertaining.

I have found a few nice black Em1's and a couple of s2000's. I dont think the s2k would be the most practical DD especially in the winter tho.
Ya Id like an EBP one really. I think it would be better because after I sell the cobalt I can put some of that money towards gettin my hatch finished up. Then I can make some 140+ passes!!!!
Just found a really clean Black EM1 here local. The guy said its clean, no rust, just a few dents in the hood, and a tear in the drivers seat. He is needing to get rid of it because him and his wife just bought a new truck. $3500. SNAP!
that sucks to hear man, i have always wanted an ITR, but im sure when i sign the title, the next set of papers for me to sign would be the divorce papers! so i broke and got her an 03 cobra, it looks so beautiful and now puts down 500, so we're happy. (and now i get to build a twin turbo set up for it, but don't tell her that!)
and i saw that on the local news tonight, i thought the cihnese team was gonna come out with some flying karate chops! haha
