Lol, the residue could've fooled me. I'm been wanting to paint my dash OEM black, but have no idea on how to remove it. Kinda tired of the maroon interior and black Prelude seats.

BTW did your car start out black? Was it black from factory?

lol. i didnt remove my last dash. i just tapped up everything i didnt want paint on. i was detailed about it so no over spray got anywhere.

my car? no. it wasnt black to start out with. it was some type of blue. here it is after i got it and swapped all the part over:

then after i painted the fenders, hood, and front bumper satin black:

and the final product:

it needs another paint job now. i want to do another one but i have to concentrate on getting my suspension, tires, and breaks right 1st. i can always repaint.

O snap thats the same color of the Prelude 2.0Si I had. I like the color, but the current color tops it by alot. I know this is weird but I've always wanted to paint the whole front on my CB black like the second pic you posted. Lol idk what it is but it catches my attention all the time.

But anyway was it a hassel going thru the paperwork to get your insurance to change the title since you painted it s different color?

And what suspension setup do you have now, looks good. And what's to come? And are you one of the chosen few who have rust free CB's?

...if so, another reason for me to hate you.

i did get used to my cb being that for a while. lol. but i wanted my cb to be all black. lol.

as far as the paperwork for changing the color of the car? no. here in NC, they dont much worry about the color of the car, just as long as the vin and registration match then its all good. i painted the car and all the cops know my car. its the only one around my city that looks like it does. only guy with my rims like this. only one with the lip like mine.

and i wish it was rust free. it has a SMALL, VERY SMALL amount of rust on it. the paint helped because its Rustoilium exterior paint. so it kinda helps it from spreading.

O kool, yea my cars the same. I have a small amount of rust, well rust that can be seen from outside don't know how much is inside.

I'm guessing you get stopped all the time if the cops no your car so well lol.
I just noticed you have two lips, which ones are they? They look OEM.

And what part of NC are you at? I go to Charolette (something like that) a couple times over the summer.

Side Note:
This thread has turned into more of a MR page lol , no one else reply's.

and yes. its 2 OEM lips. cant tell ya tho. lol. not trying to let the secret out. then everyone will wanna do it. oh. heres some pics i took today after i finished the rims:

and naw. some others post in here. they just dont come to this site very often due to the fact that majority of the site is civics and teg.

lol. i dont mind telling you. the bottom lip is a CD5 lip off of a '94 accord EX and the top one is a CB7 EX lip. as far as the rims, i dont think ill ever sell them. lol. im put so much work into them and i cant seem to find another set of rims that fits my car the way these do in terms of looks. ive thought about getting a set of Sportmaxx/XXR 501's in 16's with some 195/45's on them. but we'll see.

Nah man, just stick with your wheels. Like you said lot of work went into them so I would stick with them. Plus they really flow with the car's theme, if you were to put other wheels on there it could either be turn out beautiful or fail.

Just use that dough, to work on the engine, btw F or H? Anything to back up the looks?

And what do you think about the color on that civic? I've never seen it on a CB, and I think if done right it will look good. Lol, told you I'd figure out what lips those were one way or another.

im looking at some silver Sportmaxx 501's. 16's tho. anything smaller and my car wouldnt make it up the driveway. lol. but yeah. even if i do get another set of rims, ill switch up every weekend tho. i wont get rid of the motegi's.

its an F22a1. as for backing up the looks it has an a6 intake manifold swap, p12 ECU, I/H/E. thats about it. i plan on getting a bored out TB later this month once i get this spare TB from my friend here in NC.

as for the color? i dunno man. some cars can pull off colors if done right. like that civic. but im not sure how well a cb could pull that color off tho.

Sounds pretty cool man, and I googled the wheels and yea I change my mind I think they would also look great on your cb. As for the P12 ECU, what are the advantages? Before I knew anything about Honda's my engine blew it was a F22a2 or 1 I think, so I had it replaced with a F22a6 with 75,000 miles.

How can I tell if the manifold was changed? I didn't take part in the swap so I really don't. I was thinking about this at work today due to I realized the car still has the stock headers that came off the a1,a2. And would the P12 do any good for my engine? It's an auto and it lags so bad, as if I had turbo. It takes a while for it to finally realize that I'm trying to accelerate it. What could this be?

And a side,

I just changed the upper ball-joint on the front passenger side due to loose metal sound and "wiggly-ness". It lost the noise and drives better but now I hear another noise coming from that side what could it be? It's like a .........as if were getting hit by something when ever I goo over a bump, or make a sharp left turn, what could it be?

well the p12 ECU will only give gains to the F22a1 and F22a4. the p12 comes out of the BB4 prelude that had the F22a1 in it. there were a few people on cb7tuner.com that went thru al the differences of the 2 motors with the Prelude and the Accord and found the only difference was the ECU. a guy on cb7tuner got the p12 into his auto cb7 and he got a 16whp gain from it with just that p12 ECU and a K&N filter.

its good that you found a low mileage F22a6. the p12 wont be an upgrade for you tho. the pt6 ECU will work best with that motor. you can tell the difference in the intake manifold if you look at that side of it, you'll see a little gold piece that is circular and has a L-shaped nipple coming out the top of it.

as far as your "lagging" goes. whens that last time you changed your transmission fluid? do you have any lights on the dash like the "S" light that stays on while your driving? most of the time it just turns out to be a bad TCU or sylinoids. the shift sylinoids are on the front of the tranny. they look like 2 bubbles coming out of the tranny.

and for the clunking noise. most likely since you already replaced the upper ball joint, it sounds like the sway bar end links have gone bad. most of the time, if they havent been changed in a while, they turn brittle and just can break apart with a slight hit. ill see if i can get a pic for you of what they look like.

The pt6 is found in the Accord (SE or EX) model right? Will look into this, after all the problems are fixed.

The tranny fluid was changed about 7months ago, and nope no lights turn on. Lol and when I mean no lights turn on, I mean none. Cluster is pitch black at night. But the e-brake light and low fuel light turn on. Also when I change gears it shows it, so no S light, never seen it. I don't know if this affects it, but could it be due to the fact that I need a front and rear motor mount that it's doing this?

And the Sway bar end links, are they the ones that look like a cupholder or are they those two little "weight lifting looking" things? You know like two weights on both sides on a stick? Don't know if you will understand this lol but this is the only way I could explain.

And is it dangerous to drive around with the sway bar like so? I DD the cb so, I need to know so I buy the part and change them on Monday.
