At work (honda) the new cars motors go out threw the underside... But most older cars we take out threw the top....

Interesting, when I was a tech I always took out civic/accord motors from the bottom. Same with driveway swaps etc. I just find it a lot easier that way.

If you have a lift it's super easy. Just put a tranny jack under the motor and lower the car onto it, remove the mounts, then raise the lift. Voila. No chains or anything.

you definitely should, just make sure you dont put the dolly between the legs of the crane like I did my first time (no sex jokes form this either ****)

Replace tranny jack w/ furniture dolly and lift with floor jack and there ya go

i've been lucky enough to do 90% or swaps and general work on a lift
had to take out a motor outside on the ground once or twice and it was no picnic
not that bad but could've saved me an hour or so if it was on the lift
DID. Until 2 weeks ago. 20 minute warm ups really suck my ***.
I have been thinking of making a vid destroying that evil little product. Bit by bit.
