Hole directly above N = replica
Hole between the E and N = real
As far as i know, but that's the only thing i look for anyways.

no the 96 sedan weight is correct. the 97 EX sedan weight is 2518.
your 96 CX weight is also wrong. the closest weight is the 97 CX at 2238.
I'm getting mine from the source, where are you getting yours from?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Seriously, who cares? What does this have to do with Mugen?

Helms manual. Furthermore common sense would tell you that a EX with a moonroof, power options, abs etc isn't going to weigh the same as a DX. I think anyone on here could tell you that.

thats what i've heard too
the mugen is just squished or stretched on the fake
basically not the same length
you can kind of tell when you see enough...
is the color/finish different?
and what are the physical differences between the V/Cs?
or is the mugen one just expensive because its...well MUGEN (wouldn't be surprised if this is true)

also lets not forget if you flip over the real mugen valve cover the inner heat shield/ oil splash guard (not exact know whats its called) is screwed into the valve cover and is removable.
as opposed to the fake having it be squished metal/ metal rivets that holds the inner guard to the valve cover.

if you really look you can see the font of the kanji is off also, but being that most of us read english better than japanese the N lineup is the easiest method.

Common sense is thrown out the window. Why would my 16" RPF1 weigh 10lbs while my 16" HFP wheels weigh 19.5? Both are made by Enkei? So your "assumptions" are only that. There is no rhyme or reason why the same car of the same model of different years weigh different numbers. All of it is irrelevant anyways because of driver weight. I weigh 185 while you weigh 130.
Here is something to keep the Mugen Thread on track.

Are you serious? You honestly think an EX weighs the same as a DX? seriously?

you guys are all forgetting the biggest difference between a fake vs real mugen magnesium vc---800 dollars!
but yes, when i had mine, i made a visual inventory of it's features.
1) the spacing of the E and N in relation to the hole.
2) the visual difference of the kanji and text.
3) M U G E N is more italicized and softer.
4) true baffles underneath.
5) price! if it seems too good to be true, then generally it is.

Like i said earlier, you are arguing only to argue. I don't really care, I don't even own a civic and I never will. I never said they weigh the same, but the curb weights listed by Honda for 1996 claim to be off by 81lbs. I won't be eating anything tonight except some buffalo wings. You couldn't convince a bulemic to throw up with your rationale.

My rationale is an authentic manual produced by Honda... your numbers are wrong. I was simply adding on that it's ludicrious to think that over 100lbs of extra **** weighs nothing.

Amen to that! You can't argue against a genuine Honda manual. 81 lbs is alot compared to when racing. Imagine 2 huge bags of rice in the car while going down the drag strip. You'll actually see a difference in quarter mile times. I guess it won't make a difference to others that have cars that are show queens and ricers.
