basically. i believe spoon calipers are comparible to nsx calipers and mugen are just rebadged s2000 calipers

No not at all. Spoon still uses an 11.1" rotor, whereas mugen uses an 11.8" rotor that is highly ventilated. How quickly you can stop has almost nothing to do w/ how many pistions you have, that only aids in pad wear. The real determining factor is what materials your pads are made of and how much capicity to generate and dissapate heat (size and cooling) the rotor has. Reason being is that your car doesn't actually stop how you think it does. You aren't man-handling your brake system, the larger the piston is, the faster you will lockup the brakes and thus negate the purpose of stopping in the first place. What is important is how much heat the rotor can generate, as this is how the car actually stops. The braking system turns kinetic energy into heat, thus the more heat the rotor can facilitate the faster you can stop and the longer it will take to reach brake fade.
So back to the matter at hand:
Spoon calipers = better modulation, more even pad wear, but no increased capicity for heat
Mugen AGB = SS brake lines, lrger HIGHLY ventilated rotors, and larger calipers, noticably increased resistance to brake fade.
If this doesn't make sense to you, take a look at this...

It will have to be modified to fit. I'm sure you have the DC2 holes already drilled from what you were saying before about having a knock off Gen2 on. I have both the Gen2 and Gen1 wing for my DB8-R and I put the Gen1 up to it. It sits flat on top of the trunklid, its the backside of the trunklid that is different. The angles are off and need to be fiberglassed in. Maybe if Sean had been at home yesterday, when I dropped by, he could have taken a picture of the Gen1 propped up on the car. That way you can see what I am talking about and how it would look.

well said.. the best combination would be to combine the two.... Spoon monoblock (s2k) calipers with mugen active gate rotors!

agbs thats a great explanation. its LESS easy to lock my agbs than my stock rotor/caliper setup, however i dont have the same pads so i cant make an accurate statement untill i get another set of axxis ultimates
