They have a totally different shape. The 99-00 is alot sleeker and pointed. If you saw both side by side youd know immediately.

I was not kidding.
Like I know that the 2 are different, yes, but what makes them different, I couldnt tell you. you could blind test me and I wouldnt know which was 96 or 99, i'd have to phone a friend. I dont care anyway, ive always liked 96-98 over 99-00 except when 99-00 is stock with a Si lip, no fogs, thats it.
that FD Si is sick. Would be a lot sicker with the jdm front and lowered, but I think everyone would agree with me on that,

Im not really a fan of the JDM front, unless its on an FD2R. In recent years ive been becoming more of a purist. I find that USDM models look better and more appropriate with the original front and rear facias.

VW has been making similar headlight designs, and I don't think they're pulling it off as well as the JDM Civic. The Civic's more angular headlights, compared to the VW's more bulbous headlights, is more striking, and timeless as with any Honda. You can tell VW was in a hurry to call it their own when the design showed up on most of their new lineup.
