I can't tell if my Mugen header sounds bad or if it's some other connection in my exhaust system. But everything has been ruled out, and I'm considering putting the OEM manifold back on. I bought a Skunk2 test pipe (2.25") so there's a fresh 3-hole gasket connecting to my b-pipe. I bought a fresh donut to connect to the test pipe too and it still sounds like a DOHC lawnmower. It didn't have this issue at all before I put the header on. But it's Mugen... so I'm kind of losing my mind here.

 

sell it to me for cheap? ill take on the headache

 

is there any carbon anywhere around connections? New Exhaust mani gasket?

 

No carbon actually, which is what's boggling. Yes, brand new exhaust manifold gasket when I installed the engine Spring Break. I'll keep you in the know though.

 

hmmmmmm. Maybe theres something else loose...

 

There has to be, and I haven't given up in the collector/donut connection, which is most likely where it's leaking, although no carbon is escaping that I can see. The rest of the exhaust is RS*R with the original uber-quality RS*R gaskets and is sealed.

This pic always takes the edge off for me.
