it makes adjusting chain tension way easier, especially on older bikes which might not have perfectly concentric cogs and chain rings.

and stop acting like a DB, people hate negative people like you. if someone wants a chain tensioner, let them be. cause if your gonna start questions **** imma ask you stupid **** like why do you have pedal straps, cause millions of people can ride fine without them, or why do you have (i.e.) an aerospoke cause millions of people can ride fine of spoke wheels. who cares, just ride and be friendly.

Hey guys I need some help. I'm planning on getting a fixed gear to ride around the island (4 miles) about 3 times a week. I'm debating if I should get either the Mercier Kilo TT or Subrosa Malum. I know there's a big price difference between the two, but I figured I'll probably end up spending the same amount upgrading parts on the Mercier. I like the Subrosa the way it is and not really planning on doing anything else with it besides changing the pedals. In the long run, what's a better bike? Also, how much does the Mercier weigh? I couldn't find it anywhere but I know the Subrosa is around 22 pounds. Thanks for the help.

EDIT: Forgot to mention the Eighthinch Scrambler too.

The Subrosa is way nicer than the Kilo. I think that the Mercier's are nice starter bikes, but honestly the frames are just okay and the components that come on them are mostly junk.
