you'd prob say the same thing if you saw a brompton
but theyre made to appeal to the "typical fixie rider" , and no one seems to like em .

and , yeah ... folding bikes like the brompton are simply retarded. Id rather ride a segway to work.

its, much more so, probably the typical human answer. they look like clown bikes. nobody likes clowns. except little boys and girls.

Meh. I also think disc wheels and HED's and such look dumb as **** on a street-ridden bike. I, like everyone else, am entitled to my opinion no matter how dumb it is.

On the other hand, no one in a honda forum should still be using the "big in Japan" line to lend credibility to anything. That just means there's only six months left 'til us 'muricans completely take it out of context and ruin it

lol i didnt mean the statement made in a negative manner.

but look at this thread for instance. in 07 the thread is to no extent as active as it is now or should i say 6 months ago. its a trend jus like anything else. car modifying in principle follows trends as well.

i dunno about your guys area but i already slowly seeing it die down here in my area, but still growing in other parts of the bay area (mostly college communities and of course sf). not so much that people arent riding. they jus arent riding fixed.

oh and im already thinking of building another track bike haha

Haha no worries that was really all in jest...

I feel ya on the trend peaking out thing though, and I like the fact that the people who are just into it because its trendy are fizzling out and leaving the streets to those of us that truly love it. Kinda like when all the ricers bit on drifting, bought 240s, and left the rest of us to build some sweet *** Hondas in peace

i think it leveled off around here. i still see most of the same riders i've seen for the past two years. you either like riding bikes or you don't... there are some bikes i've seen pictures of, and have never, ever seen those bikes on any of the group rides around here, or just riding around. hard parked bicycles. hahaha.

that said, i also enjoy scooting around on my carbon road bike or my early 90s steel road bike.

Finally picked up a "new" (used) pedal setup.

MKS Sylvan, Dimension clip and strap. Budget set up hahaha. Not tarck enough for toshi's, etc. Still feels 10x better than the stock setup on the Hour.
