it's not the size...it's how u use it ....ZING!!
lol it's the combination of chainring and cog.
a 50/19 is going to be easier than a 49/15
u can think of it as a ratio (math 48/16 = 3) and then anything under that is easier anything over is harder
u can use sheldon brown's gear inch calcualtor which factors in the crank length and even the size of your tires to calculate gear inches. which is a measurement subjective like the ratios are. there is no set way of saying how hard a "3" ratio gearing is...BUT you can say that the 3 will be easier than a 3.5... hope u get it

total hight has very little to do with being sized for a track frame they measure many different parts of your body.
here is a great link so you can fit yourself

is the cog slipping?
tighten the cog via the rotafix method (look it up online)... then slap on the lockring lefty-tighty... reverse thread. i use a flathead and small hammer to tighten it up (dont smash it or overtighten it). or get a lockring tool.
happy riding!

lol, I did that when I was a kid a lot down huge hills. I would always get super scraped up when I would careen out of control and wop into trees going full speed. Mom would get pissed, I was having the time of my life.
I rode my buddies 49cm and it felt awesome... so I just figure that if I've ridden and liked it...
