it bottoms out on EVERYTHING. sometimes on bumps that i can't even see will make it bottom out. i'm disappointed with this setup so far, i've always been told that its the best. But my Omnipower coilovers seemed a lot nicer.
Well I was at that height and I would bottom out on some stupid ****. The truth is that tucking tire doesnt look good on a daily. Thats too low man period. Its not the shock travel that matters, its the simple fact that your upper control arms will hit the shock tower first.
I rode that setup in a DA and I was impressed. You just need to raise an inch and half man. The aesthetic value isn't worth having a shitty ride. People will look at it but you're the one driving it.
I just raised my suspension and it rides a lot nicer. No more headaches and it still looks pretty good IMO!
That setup is good man, trust. You're just too low.

I don't think my upper control arms are hitting anything though. It seems i have a lot more clearance there then i have shock travel. once a week i'll take my wheel off and jack up the suspension to see what hits first. I can never get it high enough for anything to hit without getting scared the car will tip, but it gets much closer to the shock hitting the top hats then the UCA hitting the shock tower. Plus, there aren't any scratches on the UCA at all.
ride was much better after installing those spacers. i was able to unload the spring pre-load so it did help soften the ride...mind you i'm running 16k front and 14k rear rates so 'soften' is relative

it also helped for removing my wheels and such as this suspension had my tires tucking even when the car was on the hoist...pain in the ***...
Koni/GC w/ extended top hats. 380/450 spring rates

When you go really low you change the suspension dynamics a lot. They weren't designed to be that low so the components don't work effectively. Its just physics+geometry. You would want bumpsteer correcting lower ball joints to add space between your lower control arm & spindle. That would help fix the angle of the axle & suspension components. There are many things you can do, that is just one of them.

UCAs wouldn't have scratches. Regardless of what coilover setup you use, when you ride that low, you are going to sacrifice comfort.

using extended top hats is to "gain" travel but yet sometimes it can also restrict it. you are raising the mounting point of the damper rod. say before you had the top hats and you would hit a bump at speed. you would bottom out the damper. now with the extended hat you are not bottoming out the damper but you are hitting your uca like mentioned before or tire on body. this is just a general example based on a double a arm fwd honda.

Bay shot from a car show this weekend. It was a pretty good showing considering they had 2 weeks to set it up. The event was to show local support for a racetrack closer to the cities

Don't mind the speed swirls in my paint lol
