im starting to think it can go both way..cuz all the ones i ever seen came on with city lights (in japan) and now im seeing some without it...weird

 

Srysly, people need to stop calling their cars POS when theyre completly fine, I find it insulting! Thats a perfectly fine Si hatch with some "nice" wheels and a good body. Whats to hate!

 

LOL.. I guess its all relative. I call it my POS cuz I'm always wrenching on it and its never done. Haha its by far from prefect body wise, and that is cell phone pic does it more justice.

It's a steep driveway thank you very much, those tires were 185/70/14s. The roof of my car comes up to under my pecs.

did u get stock abs with that? seems alot of the white 94s came with it...mine did....ive heard 94 was the only year they offered it

1994 brought safety advances and an LX version of the Civic sedan. A passenger-side airbag became standard on all Civics, and antilock brakes were now optional on the EX coupe, Si hatchback and LX sedan. The new LX sedan filled the gap between the basic DX sedan and loaded-to-the-gills EX. Power windows, locks and mirrors; cruise control; a tachometer; a stereo with cassette player; and 14-inch (versus the DX's 13-inch) tires were all standard on the LX.

 

I'm so happy I have a 93. It's a lot easier to track a non abs and no airbags to worry about. And about 50lbs. Lighter!!!

 

How is the ABS on the hatches? Are they good?

on all japanese civics, the first click on the light switch turns on the city lights only, the second click turns on the headlights with the city lights, the corner lights NEVER stay on, they only turn on when you use the blinker/hazard, same with side markers

Weight reduction 5'7" isn't really short though.

Yeah, it was optional. The original owner got ABS but no A/C. Yup.

It works fine, but I don't notice it working hard unless my wheels lock up of course. Doesn't happen very often since I drive slow around town. I don't like how monster-sized the unit is though, they're really heavy too, especially compared to modern ABS units. But hey, bigger rotors, cool.

 

I'll buy the abs if you want to get rid of it

 

Thanks. Don't hold your breath though. The only way I would take it out is if I went K-series. I'm still working on getting a B. ABS has gotten me out of some pretty nasty situations, so I definitely appreciate its function.

abs would have saved my *** in a rear end situation. no abs + 5 kids + 5 backpacks + musical instruments + really light hatch + amg that can stop really really unnecessarily fast for the street = BAM!!
learned my lesson though, no more overloading of the hatch!
