Oh wait, I forgot about my storage shed, I do have a couple JDM parts that will be going on it. EK9 front strut bar and a carbon fiber rear view mirror from a company I can't remember the name of. edit: Zoom Engineering is the company that makes the mirror.

Just picked up a 92 CX from another HT member. It's got a B18C1, B16 Si transmission, GSR leather, EX power locks and windows, etc. This is as it sits now:
It's going to be my DD and funds are going to be pretty limited so as much as people hate it, I'm going to be using some eBay knockoff parts. Plans are duckbill spoiler, BYS style front lip, rear lip, Yonaka exhaust painted black (I was prepared to spend more on exhaust but the Yonaka sounds perfect IMO), eBay JDM headlights with a mini-H1 projector retrofit. I've got Progress Coilovers on order as well the 350/250 set as I will be doing primarily daily driving. I've also ordered some black Drag DR-9 16x7 wheels with Falken 912 205/45/16 tires. I'll be fixing the dents, prepping the body and then taking it to Maaco (the local one does decent work) to get resprayed factory red. If I can find a friend to help me out I'll be doing a LS 5th gear too.
It's a little ugly now, but I think it won't be too bad looking when I'm done with it, even with eBay parts.

Right, because it is going to look just like everyone else's. The only difference is I won't be spending nearly as much as the JDM nutswingers.
Maybe I can get the approval of the JDM gods here on Honda-Tech with a picture of the last Honda I owned:

I know it isn't as cool as an EG with JDM floormats and a $800 BYS spoiler, but I hope my humble offering is enough to appease the almighty HT EG gods.

Exhibit A is the black eg above on the kosei K1s, love it
Re: ((((((((----EG Hatch Thread----PT 2 )))))))))
Thanks for the picture. That's pretty close actually just no polished lip on the wheels and not that style headlight. I'll be getting the "normal" looking black housing headlight and retrofitting a good quality projector.
Re: ((((((((----EG Hatch Thread----PT 2 )))))))))
I promise when I'm done the car will look well done even using eBay knockoff exterior parts.

It looks pretty good just not what I want. I like the BYS style front lip especially when it is painted to match the body color. I want the bigger rear Spoon style spoiler too. I don't like the little OEM one that is on it now.

Spoon style china town spoiler , yeah thats gonna look hot man. You should also throw on some JAYS te37 style Rims on it man .
Re: ((((((((----EG Hatch Thread----PT 2 )))))))))
Cute expression.
I know the "JDM" nuts are going to hate it, but I don't care, JDM parts are seriously overpriced in the US and I'm not going to spend hundreds or even thousands on JDM parts, especially exterior stuff, when I can get the same look for a couple hundred bucks total.

Anyways, you don't have to spend a lot on those parts, we get those because they are simply better for the most part and have OEM fitment. You can't knock it, especially when going with lower quality parts to begin with. If the problem is money then make a budget and get the proper parts for it even if all you're going for is appearance.
Its hard to believe you had that immaculate Civic and still don't "get it".
Why not get some USDM stuff?
Oh btw here are some OEM lips to keep the EG thread on topic
Yep, it even looks like a good base to begin with.
Re: ((((((((----EG Hatch Thread----PT 2 )))))))))
Why not get USDM stuff? Because I don't like the way it looks. Is that not a valid reason?
Ordered a couple things today including NRG hub and quick release along w/lock and a Momo wheel.

^But you like the way cheap *** parts that have shitty fitment looks? Wow, your a winner
Dont understand why people cant just save the money for a good part. Instead wasting money on cheaply made resourced from china parts so the "same look" can be achieved. Sounds like a poser. smh

Re: ((((((((----EG Hatch Thread----PT 2 )))))))))
I've seen quite a few knockoff spoilers and lips on this site that fit pretty well. "Shitty fitment" is by no means a certainty. $500 for the original versus $40 for the knockoff is a big difference. I'll take good fitment for $40 and a couple hours of work and save the $400+ for my family. If it was a show car or even just a weekend toy I might feel differently, but this car is probably going to see at least 15k miles a year as it will be my college commuter so I don't have to put so many miles on my family hauler (Volvo XC60 R-Design).
It's fun talking with you guys though and seeing all the different reactions.

The clear difference between Hobbyist and enthusiast is pride in our work.
Loving the color grey goose amazing.

Re: ((((((((----EG Hatch Thread----PT 2 )))))))))
Fair enough I guess.
So I was an enthusiast when I spent more on my coilovers than most modded EG Civics are worth? But I'm a hobbyist if I don't. Fine, I'm a hobbyist now then I guess.
Either that or I'm a guy who simply wants to achieve a certain look but can't currently afford to spend $500 on a front lip that is going to get destroyed in a year of daily driving. I'm a grown man temporarily on pretty limited funds, family comes first. So $40 for an eBay knockoff fits the bill much better right now, even if the fitment isn't perfect.
Like I said, I'll make it look good and post pics when I'm done.

Bickering over the internet is pointless. Do what you want and enjoy it, on YOUR terms. You don't need to have your standard set by other "hobbyist or enthusiats"(whatever the heck that means). I used to have some "cool" stuff on mine, took it off due to point towards Time Trial classifications with NASA. I actually enjoy the look now, not that I didn't before.
The airdam was made from something I found at Home Depot and hardware from Fastenal. Is it the "cleanest" or "nicest"? No, but did I enjoy "building it from scratch"? Yes. So, am I a "hobbyist" or an "enthusiast"?? Who knows and who cares, I have fun with my car and that is what matters to ME!!
