Well I have another car go in garage too so I rather to use dolly. I can move it over in the middle and work on it if I get new parts for it.

Ahh, I was just curious. I've got some tires going on soon that had a tendency to flatspot when left parked. Was leaning towards dollies, but heard it'll still happen.

Yeah, I didn't care about steelies. every winter I take my rotas off to avoid flatspot.

Installed ASR 24mm rear sway bar last night. it's pretty neat!

LOL, my tire guy told me the easiest way to do it is to draw three lines on the garage floor -- 6" apart. Park on the middle line, then in a week move to the front line, then back, middle, etc.

it seems easier to just put it on stands then keep moving it.

It's been a while since I've posted in this thread... Maybe a year or so lol.

Anyways I just bought a 94' del sol vtec model. It came with the OG b16a3, I bought not running. I got it from a local and they had it sitting at a mechanic shop after talking to the mechanics too see what THEY diagnosed wrong with it they told me that the head gasket was blown, which you could clearly see. And that cylinder #3 had no compression when they did a compression test they added oil and compression went up so they figured bad rings.

I got happy tearing it apart fast without thinking like a normal damn person, and before I knew it the motor was out and the head off the block. The cylinder wall, pistons and oil looked fine. There were no metal shavings inside the oil pan, or vtec solenoid screen at all.

Well here is my options I would like other sol owners and someone with a little more knowledge than I to give me some input on which route too take with getting the car up and running again.

So... either way I go the head is going to the machine shop, getting milled and checked out I'll have new valve seals thrown in while its off and get it all cleaned and inspected.

My hard choice is the bottom end what to do with it. I have a donor car 98 LS integra with a good ls bottom end.

Re-ring and new bearings/gaskets, T-belt, water pump on the b16 block

or

Take the LS block in, get it all re-ringed, inspected, new bearings and go LSV?

I have had LSV's before and were very pleased with them for what they were. IF I'm going to decide to go LSV I figure I will NEED the following;

GSR/ITR oil pump
GSR/ITR T-belt
GSR/ITR water pump
Golden Eagle Conversion kit and get head tapped for oil line.
ARP Head bolts.

Would I need anything else?? And no I do not have any plans on boosting it or doing forged internals, just want a peppy little street runner thats gonna look good and go decently when needed.

Hey guys recently picked up a stock '95 VTEC with 25k all original miles a few weeks ago. Been reading up as much as possible trying to get my knowledge of the car up as far as what looks good and what parts are available. Couple of questions I have early on are.

1. Suspension is the identical to other EG civics correct? Coils, LCA'S, etc.

2. Exhaust options seem limited. Youtube has very few examples as far as B16a3/a2 sol's go. If people with VTEC models could share their set ups that would be great.

Here's a pic of her...with my beloved LS1 in the background

A car in that condition, I would just leave in OEM form and drive it as is, unmolested ones are getting more rare by the day. I'd trade you my beater red one with a ton of cash for that if you were closer to CA. But to answer your question, yes suspension wise, EG/DC parts will fit.

For a nice bolt on exhaust I loved the tanabe racing medallion, the 1 with the oval style muffler and not the "can" style exhaust. It sounded great and was a simply bolt on installation.

Other than that id say go custom 2.5" all the way back "if staying all motor" with a vibrant resonator and your choice of muffler. Currently i am on a 3" custom exhaust w/vibrant resonator and muffler, sounds quiet until 6k+rpms then its mostly engine but has a throaty tone to the exhaust in that rpm range. I have an e-cutout right after the header so if i want to make noise at low rpms or scream up top its all possible haha.

I ended up going with custom 2.5'' from the cat into a vibrant flat black muffler. Happy with the sound not too loud and has a nice low sounding tone not high pitched and ricey. I realize just how rare this car is so I'm going to keep the modding mild. Bolt-ons and suspension is all I plan on doing.

Nice, i have the vibrant on mine as well, love the tone. Dont keep to caught up in the "dont touch it its rare" thing...in the end its just a honda, mod it, enjoy it, drive it
