Hey Boomer, what class do they make you run in with your Sol, or did you run in NOV-A/P? I've always auto-x'ed on with my EK before, and I got to run in much more "even" classes, but because my Sol is a roadster, I have to run in SS or MOD. That means I run with Corvettes.

 

nice to see some other sol's doing SCCA, i'm the only one in hawaii that auto x's a del sol

i'm planning on getting a 96-97 front bumper sometime. would the aux lights from my 95 bumper fit in the fog light holes on the dolphin bumper somehow?

 

How are you competing in STS? The CR-X / del Sol is disqualified from that class.

I've never tried auto-x and I don't really want to. There's a full blown 3 mile race track about an hour from here so parking lots don't sound like any fun.

 

Yeah, I don't have any circuit tracks around me, or I'd be doing time trials.

 

They just let us run around because it's a "motorsport country club". After my first time out there I seriously contemplated selling the GN.

 

Everyone I know who's sold their GNX kicks themselves afterwards.

unfortunetly they closed down Hawaii Raceway Park so this is the only for of motorsports fun that we can have on the island. we don't even have a drag strip or anything.

 

STS is for 2 seaters on street tires. i'm racing against all miatas... =( thats why i may be picking up a miata soon haha

Yep you got it. STS-2. small class and sols are way underpowered but some of the best drivers come out of it because they have to learn to drive well.

So I attempted to remove my dash today, but I failed miserably

Getting all the screws out was no problem. Removing the plugs from the fusebox was the headache. I easily pulled out the blue, green, & brown main plugs, but there was this one gray plug that I just could not unclip it was a PITA.

Well night started to fall upon me so I had no choice but to put everything back together since I have no garage and also have work in the morning.

Quiting isn't an option for me so I'm gonna retry this again on Friday

 

Oh yea forgot to mention that my main purpose for taking the dash out was to get better access to the climate control just to change some stinking bulbs

I know your suppsed to get that one screw thats above the radio compartment but someone previously tried to remove it and completely stripped the screw so removing the dash is my only option

 

Thats deep bro. unlike me i was going to relocate my fusebox from the engine bay to the inside of my car but i didnt... wire harness is just beyond ridiculous and taking the dash wasnt in my books anyways. but ima have to since im changing the shifter to cable.

 

It's the torque. It gets into your blood. I just had to take it around the block to remind myself of why I love driving it.

I need to find more info about your intake. Does that say Comptech?
