Hey guys, I really, really need to buy the circular rubber seals that go on the back of these aftermarket del sol headlights. I'm talking about the seal that goes behind where the bulb is.

If anyone has them or at least one of them, or knows where I can get them, please let me know. This is important, without these seals i'm leaking water into the lights in the heavy florida rain and bulbs are exploding.

Thanks!

There is a reason the window has to be up to move the top. I wouldn't mess with it.

Why would you want a pillar bar? They're only for hatchbacks because they stiffen the C-pillars due to the lack of a fixed rear deck.

The del Sol is built like a roll cage (as are most targa-top cars), and has a rear firewall. That's about as fixed as you can get.

i gotta correct that statement. ive had one on my car for a year and when i installed it i felt a huge difference in rigidity. but they dont make them for a del sol,you have to use an EK B piller bar

Solattack77 made a few that attach to the seatbelt bolts. Maybe when he checks in here next he can post pics. From what I have heard it makes a huge difference when topless.

Define 'huge difference'. Butt dyno, or did you put the car on the track?

I'm just curious, because I had one in my 97 hatch (which would stand to benefit from one a LOT more, due to the lack of a fixed rear deck), and I felt very little difference. On and off the track.

"huge diff in rigidity" meaning when driving down the road the car doesnt wobble like when the tops off. makes a diff when on too,but mainly when its off. i didnt say anything bout track,i said rigidity.

I don't know about you but when my roof's off it's not much worse at all than with it on.

The roofs are secured so weakly that I seriously doubt the magnitude of the effect the roof has on the rigidity of the chassis that you are implying even exists.

I don't have one nor have I ridden in one that has one doing while doing anything to test it. Just posting what I have been told by several people that do have them.

If your car feels wobbly with the top off, I'd get your frame checked out.

And track makes a huge difference. It's where you're going to feel EVERY flaw in your car in magnified detail.

In retrospect, the panels you have to cut to put in the $30 bar cost $25 each from Honda.

Not ragging on you, so don't get your panties wadded. I'm just saying it's not for everyone, and is not a necessary or greatly beneficial.

If you like it, then more power to you. It's not my car.

I don't have a pillar bar but I do have a harness bar for my harnesses (obviously).
Not going to comment on increased rigidity or stiffness because even if there was a noticeable difference I'm the worst at telling these kind of things.
One thing I did notice was that the roof didn't squeak as much which is something the del sols are infamous for along with the leaky seals.

I agree about the last part. Its so rigid and strong it adds so much extra weight and also why people think del sols are lighter than they think or they look. yes a crx is light and is a 2 seater like the del sol but not a targa top with a built in roll cage.

I want Art Morrison or the magic men at Speed factory to make me single-hoop 4-point roll bar with built in harness bar. I don't want it to go forward into the dash or back through the firewall, though.

I'm going to have it come up into the hoop from right behind the seats, and then have the two support legs go back at a sharp 30 degree and then straight down through the plastics near the personal trunks.

No door bars, no holes in dash, but still SCCA ready.
