to those of you restoring the "clips" for the mugen wings, they dont look much different than what you'd use to mount glass to an entertainment system or something. All you would need to do is find the right size and grind the nub off tahts used to mount it as a hinge....just something i was thinking of

haha...didn't expect that question but i guess it make sense...well I just mounted for now cause I wanted to
a. tape is cheap and have a whole roll of the good stuff. will use the same fishing line method to get it off and remount it once i get it painted. no harm done and not much labor/time wasted to be able to have it on now in the meantime instead of wait
b. not sure exactly when I'll get it painted. not tomorrow for sure and won't be driving it either...until spring time anyways. so no rush, but if I do drive it around I'd like to have it on just because since it doesn't look that bad with black and will roll like that for a bit until paint.

really? i thought mine were pretty shitty too. guess they could of been worse. regardless I still have to refinish them and took a big chunk of my time today (i didn't mind and liked it...something to do since I couldn't drive...still shitty wet and icy...couldn't even make it out of my garage for pics lol)

honestly, the best is micky thompson street radials. my buddy had them stock 15" ITR wheels on his 550+whp EK and worked really well for him. they are hella beefy and he dailyed them cause he's my tuner and he tunes and beats the **** out of his car on the street. I'll try and get the exact model and size for him...not that it matters but he had nsx calipers too haha

honestly, i think he may still have them since he got slicks cause he needed them when he turned up the boost.

why don't u just get slicks? M&H 15" 22X8s. see people run them on 15" slips all the time and work great. cause u want to drive to the track on radials and not have to swap there?

very good point....glass clips that makes perfect sense and you're right, they look the same...

well here's what I accomplished today

what i started with:

decided to refinish everything and do the wing clips as well:

went straight for the bench grinder/polisher to get all the paint and rust off to strip it down to bare metal

took a while but pretty happy with the results:

then sprayed them quick so they wouldn't oxidize:

new hardware for the wing clips (brass plated )

allen screws for the mounting clips (zinc)

and finally on the car...

so thats all the boring updates I have...fun's over lol

maybe more/real pics tomorrow if i'm lucky

yea i was looking into the Micky Thompsons, in a 225/50..

http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...115+4294904624

i was considering just going ahead and getting slicks, but i like being able to just drive to the track, and not have to swap wheels out at the track, so that would just be one more thing to carry, and have to just leave the regas sitting somewhere along the fence at teh track not a fan of that idea hah

i might actually raise my car a little, and put on camber kits noticed my bfg's got real hot on the inside, and im sick of camber wear figure i'll make the car more functional (plus im tired of ripping my bumper off all the time if i have to go up a steep incline )

ya thats what friends are for
just stick them in the back of their 4 door beater or the bed of my dad's truck
i never go to the track strictly alone and there are always people watching out
and i think u know, the race scene isn't like the show scene. theft is not a big issue imo...only time people protect their **** is to keep it a secret, like the NY/CT guys that come up and never pop hood. I caught a clipse of this one dude's turbo and swear he was going to kill me...like i witnessed him killing someone lol...they don't play when it comes to that stuff lol

thats funny...you're thinking about raising your car and I'm trying to lower mine...wtf?

my dad's trailer is the steepest thing and when i had to load and unload it for NJ it was horrible...had to move the pieces of wood while the car was half way on the ramp
hit my b-pipe cause thats the point direclty in the middle of the wheelbase so it touches when going up an incline...basically needs smaller tires on the trailer so its lower and doesn't have such a dramatic angle to climb up

i swear, traction bars are the best invention...lowest point on the front end and they protect EVERYTHING...oil pan, down pipe, header, bumper etc
grinds the **** out of it but traction bar doesn't need to look pretty...just function and lower those 60' times...

maybe there will be a meet around that time i can hit up or something
i'd love for you to shoot it too
sure you miss your sol and about time to get another one

haha yea, well if my friends go, they run, so that ideas out but you'd be suprised, in the Orlando area (where the track is) alot of times thiefs go out there to scope out cars so who knows what someone will run off with..

i been thinking of raising my car for a little while, idk, im wanting more functionality, to start auto-xing, and to fit a bigger tire up front. plus camber wore tires gets olddd im actually considering getting some of those lenso skinneys haha idk with the retune, and more boost, with bigger tires, i should be mid to low 12s easy im comin after ya Will!! haha then when i go bigger, i can use the same stuff i just need to work on my 60' best is still like a 2.04ish i think.. im launching well, trying not to launch tooo hard to break/spin, but not like a ***** i think these pansy radials im on arnt helping any haha

ya thats usually happens, everyone is running
just like trying to find a designated driver...everyone wants to drink haha and can't get stuck doing the responsible thing lol

ya, i'm not saying it doesn't happen cause **** happens everywhere, but its just not as watch your car like a hawk atmosphere like it is at some sketchier places. its more laid back and chill...heard auto-x is even better than drags as far as friendliness factor goes...they are just their to see what their car can do and maybe compete...guess it must be the side by side racing vs one at a time deal?

ya being lows not good for the track period. Not even camber, but how about axle angle and snapping one? seen that way too many times...want to keep the axles as straight as possible

wow, thats even funnier. you want lenso skinnies (which i've been after to complete the set and match teh fronts) and i'm thinking about selling my front lensos with slicks cause I wanted to get bigger brakes and they barely clear my GSR's as is being that they are only 13" (perfect for a 22-25" slick)
also not sure if i'll be taking the sol to the strip cause i've got other plans

but believe me, if you start giving me a run for my money we'll settle it IA09 if i REALLY have to lol
big bet too like loser has to jump on his wing haha...j/k

got an alignment today...

long story short, my car is low enough that i magically lost an A/C belt and snapped/chewed up my alternator belt.

woo. alternator belt change in the ice/snow 1 hr before a meet, miles from home FTW.

Will, it's 4:35am... i'll text you later lol.

yea, auto-x's are real chill, ive been to one (just to watch ) but still, its all a bunch of real cool people, no hateing/trash talking, etc (from what i saw anyways )

yea, im kinda over the "slammed" thing, its not really worth it, id rather have my car be functional.. i mean yea, ive got pretty severe axle angle, and not exactly a full tire contact patch prob part of the reason i can only cut a 2.0 on my bfg's with 12psi in em speaking of 60', whats yours? 1.7? damn, cause if i could get mine that low id really be creapin in on your time im not gunna lie, im still learning to launch my car with (partial) traction haha

get some weldsssss that would be so baller.. i want some, but $400+ a wheel is hard to justify, especially for skinneys!

yea, im really planning to go bigger, and faster, but i dont know, cause my power level now is perfect, like if i want to auto-x or anything, its not "too" much, but then again, its still kinda slow in a straight line

oh, you better ring some heat for IA haha, i dont plan to have the dinkey D anymore by that time!

My doors did that on my EK when I replaced my locks. Its not fully disengaging, so when you shut it, the force pushes it back to lock. Cant really explain how I fixed it, I just fiddled with it and made sure everything was where it was supposed to be.

good luck!
