Re: (Dirty Octopus)

so in short form:
Hi Kash
Hi Troy
Hi Pete- i was gonna be overwhelmd with jealousy when i thought you had an orange sol and a RHD daily, but then you said it was your friends, so im back to a tolerable level of envy

That is a popular misconception. My first 97 del Sol VTEC was a late VIN also. American Honda put factory leather in the last run of 97's because mine had OEM Honda leather. I gave them to a friend who currently has them in his 93 right now.
They don't have the same exact stitch as the other's, I.E. there's no "stripe" down the middle, rather there are strips of leather that run horizontally and around the torso bolster area.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I knew one of the experts would chime in Cool to know.

I've seen two other sets of leather seats exactly like my old pair, however the ones he posted are different still and remind me of the old wetokle covers that were offered after-market. I've seen ones like his before when we had the leather seat debate years back on automotivetech.org.
The covers on my old seats actually had the Honda label in the stitching on the underside. Let me see if I can find the old VIN number. I believe later VIN's were late model 97's that technically would have been 98's had they had a 98 model year, but don't quote me on that.

Re: (SOLITUDE)
Okay so I've done a little investigation, and came up with mysteries that I then solved with old fashioned rememberin' the good old days...
My old VIN with the OEM leather was a Milano 97 del Sol VTEC, JHMEG2171VS000477. This car was originally sold in McHenry, IL to a little Asian lady that thought the car was too small and traded to Honda City in Greenfield, WI for an Accord, where I traded my 91 CR-X Si for it + $4000 cash in 1998. for a del Sol, for trading in my Si
My current VIN is actually older than my last one... One of the first 50 made for 97 actually... Originally sold in WI, traded to Wilde Honda in 2003 by a guy I knew from working at Wilde who wanted an Accord because he had a new baby boy, sold to me after I wrecked the car above...
So, to correct myself, I had it backwards. My apologies since this discussion hasn't taken place for about 4 years.
We had previously concluded on automotivetech.org that the FIRST 500 VIN's for JHMEG217*VS000*** had OEM leather. This is still speculation and has no real proof other than what a few of us old schoolers noticed years ago. The seats in my current del Sol were swapped out by the previous owner because his girlfriend hated the leather and they had a friend with non-leather Sol seats.
I've corrected my previous post with the new info.

$3civic-good 2 see another milano dolphin front-er
my dent bucket, which has a lot of dents, and luckily mine doesnt have hardly any rust either, and its a 5spd, i got lucky because mine was factory zeibarted and i have since put chassis saver all over the underside/rear fenders/rockers
