del Sol thread v 2.0!
If you can spend the money on the Neova it is worth it
Most unbelievable street tire ive ever seen IF NOT the Azenis 615 is a fine reasonable way to go, but they get greasy on the autox ( @ least larger courses )
The new hotness out now that is competing w/ the Neova but fo rmuch more reasonable price is the Dunlop Z1 Star Spec
You would have to throw a 225 on your wheels to run the Dunlop, which I think you should do anyway

Mornin everyone..
good to see Camacho pop his head in here for a bit. Even if it was just a for sale add..
Had a weird *** meeting yesterday about starting a thursday night event in the Highland Park area. I could swear that the owners were coked out, well that and [freak]in drunk. Everything was done in Spanish so I probably only got a third of everything that was said threw out the hole thing.
I'll keep the local people posted.

Only speaking from what I have read 225s on a 7" give a more "sloppy" feeling to the suspension. (largely due to side wall stiffness of the tire)
Hence why I was wanting to move to an 8" rim so I could run 225s to their full potential.
And yes I know lots of auto cross guys run that size because its the largest allowed in class. and for that more tire = quicker times.

i dunno, i haven't heard much of anything except for hype on the star specs.
if you can afford them, run the re-01s. if not, the azenis are your next best bet. i wouldn't even bother with the rest of the lot really

a. Falken Azenis 215/45/16 or 205/40/16 - $99-101

)
b. Yokohama S.Drives - $94
(Already have two 205/45/16s on front so would just have the complete set all around brand new)
c. Yokohama Parada Spec 2 - $78
(same brand different model...cheaper)
d. Advan A048
(good for track but street or parking lot?)
e. Advan Neova
f. BF G-force Drag Radial NT
(tires I've always liked in the past...great "street racing" tires imo)
g. BF G-force KWD2 NT - $116
(BF not for drag and come on the mugen civic Si's
)
h. Potenza RE01R/RE070
(saw the re070s on the new s2K CR and liked them...looked like the car had pretty good traction when i saw it run down the track even tho i know its rwd...heard the re01r is slightly better...also saw this set on an s2k)
i. Nitto NeoGen - $91
j. Nitto NT55 - $113

anyone know of a better site to shop from?</TD></TR></TABLE>
unfortuantly a few of the tires you listed arnt available in a lowered honda friendly size
bfg drag radials i dont believe come in a 16", and dont believe neovas come in a 205/45.. had some like new ones on my regas, but they were 205/55/16, wayyy too big for me
which sucks, cause they are such an awesome tire, on my buddies built k20/k24, top mount gt35r coupe
and they are absolutly amazing on his car!
truthfuly id suggest the s.drives for a spirited daily, and a tire that still has good treadwear.. i love mine

eww no way, your crazy 205/45 is perfect, 205/40 is too small, and asking for a bent rim/bumpy ride
but i would love to get soem 215/40's (nearly the same sidewall as a 205/45) prob my next set i will
just my opinion, and from what ive experienced with most all 205/40's

Azenis suck *** dude, greasy as [freak] and dont last @ all. we just put a set of 4 *specs on my brothers hatch while he was instructing Summit main and they performed like R comps ( or like a Neova ), really unbelievable how far street tires have come in the passes 5 years. They are as fast as the older R comps 5 years ago.
And yeah I agree w/ Wray, @ least a +45 when running a 205/16

Well with the right stance it looks just fine.
40 series are about .15 smaller than stock while a 45 is .25 larger than stock. Personal preference i guess but if your bending rims you probably should adjust your driving rather than your tire size.
I still want to buy a set of 225 45 15....
:mumbles to self "one day..." :
:edit: just read some on the star specs... Those looks nice! very nice except for the sizes that are listed.

- Obviously looking to get performance from these tires. Something I can auto-x which is why azenis come to mind first, or the KDW2s, or potenzas. Considered drag radials even tho when i run at the track I have slicks, but nice to have them on the street if you know what I mean
. Something that would be good for both would ideal...which says azenis again I believe
</TD></TR></TABLE>
azenis are nice tires, but they spin like crazy. (there very quite and smokey
) and dont last long
there great for lateral movements, but there not so great with rapid acceleration (or slamming it into second) they wear fast as well, as i would think most soft tread would.
