I saw a listing on eBay that caught my eye a few months ago. I've been looking to stick something (M3 lip most likely) on the decklid, because the back side of the car is so- plain. It's for a spoiler for my car, a Del Sol. they wanted $200 for it, which is [freak]ing outrageous.

So I made my first template for my idea today.

I want something that is both functional, and appealing to the eye. Yeah yeah FWD needing downforce yah yah... I will be tracking this car at VIR this year. I plan on riveting it to the trunk itself, and using turnbuckles to hold it steady, and adjust it.

Here's 2 shitty cell phone pictures of my first idea. It's only cardboard, and I'm not even going to say what my 'turnbuckles' actually are.





Input, CONSTRUCTIVE criticizm- I'm all ears.

That doesn't include shipping, molding it in, painting... etc.

My idea is simple, effective, and in my head it looks damn good. That cardboard mock up is garbage.

The sideskirt and rear piece on the bumper look very nice! he wing isn't shabby either. to whoevers sol that is.

Here's my Del Sol still in working progress..planning on keep it stock for a daily beater.



Also, these just came in today, brand new with metal handle rods..I'm going to add these for functional uses.

 

ughhhhhhhhh everytime i see K1s on a sol it makes me want a set.

Will- yea open downpipe so far... but im definitely working on getting that fixed. might have to go with the ricey fart cannon look.. oh well.

Chris -- i might be heading down to IA with another car... how's that southern hospitality going for a buddy of mine?

i have SOOO much to do before IA. i don't think i'll finish... and the sol's looking beat anyway. but oh well.

how do you guys carry around your steering wheels when you take em off?? i hate just straight carrying it... i need a little honda or nardi gym bag or something... any ideas?
