It was a Milano Red '93-'95 and it had horrible angel eye headlights. Then I woke up because the alarm went off.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Well the good news about the dream is since you remember it you weren't in REM sleep. Was it a lucid dream?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by NOFX &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Later that day a customer came in with a ricey blue '94. He told me it was an S, but I honestly couldn't tell you yet (the seats were S seats or '96-'97 seats though - they looked like Eran's '96-'97 seats actually, maybe a bit paler). It had a body kit (very aggressive and had a hole that was poorly patched in the rear fiberglass bumper. The corners of the bumper were hanging off. It was on white 17" Revos and had driver's rear quarter panel damage and when I got him to pop the hood, the engine he though was stock (and fast) was a non-VTEC D15B which had recently had it's oil cap left off.

It also had massive camber wear, especially in the front, even though he didn't know if it'd bee n lowered. The coils were red... thats' all I could tell you.

He was upset that his girl had recently curbed one of his wheels. The car is currently registered under his girl's name because he has a DUI and cars in his name aren't supposed to be on the road.

I told him if he wants to get rid of it to tell me. I figured it would be cheap and I'd want it back to stock anyway. I think I talked him out of bolting a monster tach to the dash. He also mentioned putting gauges on the passenger A-pillar. It runs and it has a decent frame, though it has a little bit of damage on that rear quarter and has a big ding on the back of the trunk.

Oh, and he removed the auxiliary lights because he thinks it will help it cool better (even though he never had cooling issues).

He also showed me on him registration where he says it weighs only 1620. Oh, and A/C has been removed. I saw a plug up there behind the driver's headlight that came from a main harness. I assume this could be A/C.

When I first started talking to him he said he wanted to keep it. By the time I left, he said he wasn't sure if he wanted to keep it much longer.

I see this poor car and just want to save it.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I can honestly say I can understand where you're coming from, but do keep in mind that restoring a del Sol is alot harder than per se a EG or EK hatch / coupe / sedan.

I'm really hoping you do find yourself a nice Sol to call your own but I hope you know what you're getting in to.

My advice is other than looking for the obvious stuff when buying a car, it is VITAL that your Sol has good weather seals because those are expensive to replace. The 2nd thing I'd say would be finding a clean interior with little or no wrinkles on the door panels.

Yeah, he said his seals never had a problem. I opened the driver's door and didn't see an immediately problem, but I wasn't looking for one either. The interior looks decently clean, especially compared to what the car has been through.

My biggest concerns are the mileage (if he didn't know it wasn't a stock engine, he probably doesn't know the mileage on the engine - not that I'd want to keep it, but it'd be in there for awhile since my coupe is my main focus) and if it has a clean title. Body is decent (paint was actually really good besides the quarter, trunk and broken taillight which he was buying tape for and paint looked original, though it was dirty).

I really doubt I'd get into this car. We have a good Honda scene around here, so I'm not too horribly concerned about finding parts, especially through junkyards, but I would prefer a clean stock del Sol to start with. The problem is finding one. The best price I found within 500 miles of me is $3000 for a '93 del Sol with 225k. I don't even know the trim level. Btw, something about it makes it look repainted to me.

1993 Honda del Sol (?)
224,706 miles
$3,000

1995 Honda del Sol Si
152,000 miles
$5,200

1993 Honda del Sol Si
115,137 miles
$5,999

1993 Honda del Sol Si
81,700 miles
$6,495

1993 Honda del Sol S
64,220 miles
$8,950
(The plus to this one is it's for sale at Lynwood Honda, which means there's a decent chance it might be a Certfied Honda, unless there's an age constraint I don't know about.)

1995 Honda del Sol S
Unlisted Mileage
Unlisted Price

Unfortunately, in the event I am to ever buy a del Sol it's going to have to be close by (~200 miles one way) and cheap. The one I mentioned that I saw yesterday, I'm only interested because it looks like a pile (but runs and is restoration) and so I anticipate the selling price to be really cheap.

to that dream.

And btw, that's a weird dream. lol Can't say it's much worse than some of mine though.

Btw, he says he still has the auxiliary lights.

I already want one. It'd be better in sunny DE, but meh, I want one anyway.

Don't anyone get hopes up of selling one to me though since I NEED to keep my coupe. I love her too much to get rid of her.

Btw, it's spelled Amelia.

Hehe, even though I hate my Sol, I don't think I could stand parting from it

And I wouldn't let it go for anything short of what I still owe on it.

So, yes mine would be EXPENSIVE, and no where near CLOSE.

I tired though!

Coupe's just the same as it's been. STILL trying to get a hold of some bracket blueprints. I've started to offer cash for whoever will get them to me, but still no luck.

Looks like I actually searched for only manual del Sols too... but I know I'd hate having an auto and I wouldn't want a chassis that was originally an auto.

Here's a few things so you can impress your teacher. REM is the 5th part of the sleep cycle. During which there is full muscular paralysis, and if you're awaken during REM sleep you will NOT remember your dream. Those with Narcolepsy fall straight into REM sleep.

Ehh, I'm not really taking it too seriously yet. I'd like one and if I found one for the right price I'd take out a small loan, but it's more of the type of situation where the right car for the right price would have to fall into my lap.

Or I could get this one.

I should have my BA in a year with a minor in Sociology. You need a PhD to have the title of a Psychologist. I've completed my courses in Theories of Psych., Health Psych., Physiological Psych., Abnormal Psych., Research Methods, Developmental Psych., Cognitive Psych., Learning & Memory, and Aggression. Add Anthro, Statistics, Biology, Philosophy, and a few Sociology classes besides the intro and gen ed. courses. So yeah feel free to ask me for help on your homework.

BTW, Sol related question I keep forgetting to ask you guys, at what RPM's are you Si guys at doing 120kmh / 70mph in 5th gear?

EDIT: guess I was thinking of another tranny si has a .75 5th which makes it about 3300rpm @ 70 mph

go here and have some fun:
http://www.fatboyraceworks.com/gears/

I think I plan to get a DX 5th gear and do a 4.9 final drive with an LSD

doing that, look how closely my tranny would mock a '98 JDM ITR tranny:
