The problem I've noticed is that a) we whored them all on the last thread, b) it's not "H-T cool" to own one anymore, and the few purests that are left, are mostly out of money or don't have cameras to take pictures.

All I know is I can't post any more pics until I get mine back. But I promise everyone I will.

Also because it is seen as a 'Chick car' I really dont care what people think of my Sol I like it and I would buy another in a heartbeat. I have a feeling that most owners feel this way.

Well there are parts of the U.S. and Australia that will contend by saying that anything with 8 cylinders or less is a "Chick" car.

A true Honda enthusiast will tell you that Soichiro Honda's real dream was to Fly - hence the Wing emblem on the motorcycles. Soichiro loved open roofed cars and motorcycles because it gave him the feeling that he was flying. I think you can all see what I'm trying to prove.

Furthermore, the del Sol is not a cabrio and it is not a real roadster. It is a Targa. The targa top was first introduced in production cars in 1961 by Triumph, and in 66 by Porsche. Porsche named the design Targa after the Targa Florio race, and the design was implemented to quicken the time race car drivers could get in and out of the cars.

Now how the hell can flying and racing pedigree be girlish?

i know, and people say that to me all the time... and im just like alright then lets race (cuz its almost always like a buttstang gt or non sc cobra) so i just own em and make em feel like ****. if i ever lost my sol, theres no way i could buy any other car but another sol... its kinda like we have this little bond haha

So does anyone here think I am crazy for thinking about driving half way to cali to help some dude reassemble his del sol front end? I think it owuld be fun and it would get another sol on the road quicker. Besides, I have been half way to this place every weekend for like the past month, what's a little more gas

Sure, probably one of the more stupid things I have done; buying a car knowing it would need a new motor and suspension eventually but it has been a fun project and has taught me a lot about the cars we all love to drive. Now if only i could stop spending money on stuff and save for that motor

yeah... I waiting for a JRSC before I say anything like that. My line of defense is that the girls LOVE del Sols. (for the most part) That can lead to some very good things.

If only I had to money to make it ME/RWD.

I liked your little soapbox rant, and it makes a lot of sense. People just think del sols are chick cars because of how they came stock: underpowered with a twisty body. Now once you fix that up a bit, it is a very manly car
