I'm gone 3 hours and 3 pages go by. It's the good ol 'days.

So since Jas is sitting and isn't being driven, has anyone sanded / repolished their headlights before? I've read lots of "how-to's" but they're for EK lights and DC2's. Any difference in plastic between the JDM headlights?

do you mean the exterior to get them looking like new again or taking them apart and getting the lenses to look crystal clear(no ridges)?

I've done the first one with excellent sucess

-1500 WET for 5 miutes using a perpindicular pattern(side-side, then top to bottom)
-2K WET for about 10 minutes this time going perpindicular on diagonal slope
-meguiars plastx and mother's mini powerball for about 3-4 rounds, shopuld be pretty blinging after all that

well ******, think I'm gonna try and catch some sleep

I don't care about the ridges, just a new clear finish.

We don't have Mothers here, and Meguiars is hella expensive. Is there a 3M product thats similar?

so for the exterior of the lens? what I said will work (has everytime for me anyways) I'm sure if 3m makes a good "clear plastic" polish that will be sufficient

Should I use a Buffer or just hand and cloth?

a small buffer will take less than 2 minutes per round...doing it by hand is much more labor intensive and more rounds are required for decent results(still not as good as a buffer or mini powerball though)

woot an informative post for the ownage

good pic at eibach....shows results of polishing from the night before

well, good night ******

pretty much what sean said, is how to do it. i did it all by hand.

edited a bit:
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by broketuner-Sol_Si &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">1. 1500 grit wetsand for about 10 minutes using a perpindicular pattern (side-side, then top to bottom).
2. 2000 grit wetsand for about 10 minutes (same method).
3. meguiars plastx about 3-4 times, should be pretty blinging after all that.</TD></TR></TABLE>

as for the difference in plastics, i don't know. i think it will work fine though. just try it on the spare headlights
