its hard to see the real color in pics, but its called ivy leaf. and this is a very limited budget build, so yes, it is spray bombed lol. and the entire car will be as well. as long as i take my time to do it right, it should turn out good

yea this is just temporary the whole d-series thing..i got a ls/v im building on

 

ah stay with the d! but thats cool. a word of advice to save you some headache though, take the manifold to a welder and have them go over every weld before you even use it. when i had my manifold like that i had to have it fixed basically every week. got really old really fast. def sucked.

so here's a lil update on my project...





everything is just loosely sitting on the front end for mock up. im gonna wet sand and do a final coat of paint on the bumper and fenders yet before i bolt it all up. also, the car was wrecked hard in the front before i got it and it needs a whole new core support so thats why the pass side doesnt line up nearly as good. that is on the list to be take care of pretty much as soon as i get the car drivable again and can take it to be fixed.

i thought about staying with a D but i prefer a B and yea i thought about doing that also

 

My first turbo kit was an eBay kit. Had on my db1 for about 6month and had no problem beside the clutch slipping but that's because I had an oem replacement clutch. When I took off the turbo there is no shaft play either.

yea some last and some dont..i just met a guy at walmart about a hour ago with a boosted gsr teg and it was a ebay kit said he's been running it for almost a year and had no problems...so i guess everyone just have their own luck with it

 

yeah its cool. i'm tired of b's and wanna get back to playing with d's again.

it used to be that every part of an ebay kit was junk. but it seems that lately they have been holding up a lot better. i would use an ebay turbo, but i will never use an ebay tubular manifold. i would use an ebay cast mani though. i think the main problem people were having with the turbos was they weren't using restrictors and that is why they would blow out seals.

 

i got a cast iron mani brand new but its for a D and i have a oil restrictor for my turbo also

 

i'm confused, i thought you were boosting the d until you built an ls/v? or did you mean you got the cast mani for a b?

 

well i brought this kit bak in december aroound xmas time and i had my 4dr teg back then and plans were to boost it but never got to it the kit was just sittin in my room for months then i sold the teg and brought the coupe now im puttin the kit on the coupe with d motor until the ls/v is finished

ooooh ok. now i gotcha. you said you've got a cast manifold for the d so you shouldn't have any issues as long as its all put together right. and you said you have a restricter so you should be find with the turbo as well.
