So, I'm having an issue with my D16. It sputters and dies. Randomly. I'll be driving, RPM's are around 2,400 and it starts to act like it's going to die. The RPM gauge needle taps as well. Jumping rapidly from 2,400 to 3,000 but the car doesn't rev up....

This morning I was driving it through my neighborhood, stopped at a stop sign the car idled normally but when I pushed the gas, it died.

Could this be from bad gas? Fuel pump? Fuel filter?

 

i would check the fule filter firts since its easy to get to, take it off and tap it on the ground to see if anything comes out like dirt or anything that could block it, then i would look at like spark plugs and wires, maybe even your rotor or cap in your dizzy

I have teg seats in my sol I love them they have the lumbar support...stock del sol's don't.

mine is a dual point so i wanna do a multi point fuel injection

 

O gotcha. I've never wanted to do that (I don't think I need to) so I haven't every really looked it up.

 

the dual point motors only come in the 88-91 civic hatches crx's and 4 doors thats not an si so insted of having the carberater lookin thing i wanna swap it to an regular intake mainfold like on the si's or newer cars you got it figured out now lol

Kristin how long has it been since you have done your plugs and wires it might be getting ready to blow. NO lie thats what happened to my integra i would step on the gas and it wouldnt go anywere and it would sputter might be time for a fresh rebuild

 

Man I need to do something to one of my damn cars, I ain't touched them in a while oh well maybe I'll get some birthday money and I'll use it on one of them

I just changed the spark plugs, wires, distributor, cap and rotor about 300 miles ago. I'm sure it isn't any of those things. I'm seriously thinking it's just bad gas.
