I want simple set up. im only going to pushing prolly 8-9 lbs. I only have about 8-900 so play with as for my wife still wants that damn camera

Any help/ advise would help. As you guys know, I'm new to cars and stuff. But I know a lot more than I did a month ago.

 

yeah i was looking on ebay and found a nice camera used as a demo with a lense for mad cheapz...only reason i'm not searching cl is cuz i cant move my car to pick it up haha

ok well boost may be more expensive than you think because on top of all the parts you need a tune, and a good one if you're going on stock internals. now i don't know what the d series has for a bottom end but the f22xx can only handle about 8 psi on the stock block (which still puts you at close to 300hp. f22 ftmfw!). you may be able to source a used or even a blown turbo and rebuild kit for cheap but that is going to be a big chunk of money, you also may need new injectors, fuel rail, and pump depending on your setup. whatever you do, dont use an ebay turbo. you may be able to get away with a dsm turbo or one off of an mk3 supra but make sure you do a lot of research

I just want to make my car faster. I spoke to my brother and he gave me the rundown.

CAI- No intake manifold. He said the Y8 Instake manifold was on of the best ones, just to get the tubing the the CAI

Header- He said to go with the Bisimoto D-series header ( Holy shiz those are expensive )

Exhaust- Buddy club Spec II ( the loudest exhaust I've ever heard )

With all that he said run a 75 shot and I'll be good to go. I don't want to street race, I just want to make my car faster and when I do take it to the track I won't look like a fool. LOL

 

if you want throttle response then don't get a cai go sri or rrsri like me (really really short ram intake) yes a bisi header is gonna cost you an arm and a leg but it will give you better gains than any other header on the market. as far as exhaust, you can find quieter ones and likely for much cheaper. personally i would not put nitrous oxide in my car...i've seen too many engines blow up.

i'm not sure if those upgrades are gonna get you where you want to be though

 

Dont go NOS. Build a turbo set up, or build a NA b16/18/20.

An admin job would be perfect for school. Being in the maintenace field you won't have ANY time for school. Your going to be swamped with work. How many NCO's or SNCO's have thier CCAF that are maintainers?

I can promise you not a whole lot of them.

But I can tell you if you want to get a degree out of the Air Force then get an admin job. I have an admin job and I can tell you that I thank goodness that I didn't get into the mantenance field. My supervisor and my shop NCIOC were previous maintainers and HATED it. One is a SSgt and the other is a TSgt and they BOTH don't have thier CCAF yet.

I would do the intake mod, which ever one, I still need to do one. I heard a short ram intake can cause heat problems for the engine?? Is that true? Do a full exhaust system, header, program it

Then save and slowly build a n/a or turbo motor the right way. Do it from the bottom up, with a tranny. Then drop it in at once, or then you find another car to drop it in.

 

idk if it does, on our car though the intake entrance is in the engine bay anyway and it wont get all that cold getting from there to the throttle body. but i haven't noticed any increase in temps, and my radiator is in tough shape

 

With a short ram intake, it rests slightly right of the engine, instread of looping down usually behind the bumper like a cold air does. The reason people say possible heating issues is because of the heat the engine gives off might be sucked in by the short ram. I've never had a problem in both my civics.

 

like i said i haven't had any issues and i'm running a 45 degree elbow about 6" long with a filter on the end.

 

dubz do you got a picture of how long yours is? I want to do a short ram but haven't because of the heating issue I heard.

Putting brand new OEM suspension on tomorrow. I hate being low. It isn't all its cracked up to be, for me at least. Building my motor. Looking for a z6 or y8 tranny.
