some car dealerships are really stupid. trying to take advantage of people that have bad credit (me). they learned the hard way that im not some dumbass that is usually associated with bad credit.

so i bought me a slave cyl this morning off ebay for $24 shipped. brand new. wouldn't you know it, after i was done buying that, i searched "clutch" for my car, and dammit, i found one for $15 buy it now. same thing. grrrrrr....

 

i bought mine brand new from the local oreilly autoparts store for 10.00 after tax

 

ebay built hondas are the way to go!

 

purchased my crx on ebay & built the entire car from parts off ebay. if you know what you want, do your research and dont fall victim to the garbage that they have on there, it can be done. it defiantly takes time though.

So i mean it does happen and there was more in the searches that i found, so you cant say that it never happens. And nissans arent superior at all to hondas, they have their same rust issues as hondas do, their engines are about as hondas are, their automatics are gutless like hondas are (im talking mainly about the 240s not nissans as a whole). i think both makes are pretty comparable vehicles in all aspects though

 

Ya if you hit any car with enough force you could rupture the gas tank. It's all circumstance.

 

I think with that whole thing is that engines in 240's are soooo much easier to work on than the V6 in the 300zx and they are alot more costly to repair.

 

true, BUT, the 300 is faster, more torque, better handling...it doesnt really make any sense why it would cost LESS than a 240.

thats like saying an early 90's camaro is MORE expensive than an early 90's corvette.

 

that thing was a piece of crap anyways. He didn't even have all his charge pipes hooked up right for like the first 2 weeks he had it they all leaked pressure.

people do that crap all the time with cars I see it all the time. I see that with 240's and 300's all the time and with civics. They throw a couple hundred dollars worth of crap on it and all the sudden it's "jdm" so it should cost more haha it's so annoying. For example I was on craigslist a few weeks ago and this kid was trying to sell a ek hatch. All it had was some interior mods(nothing special) intake exhaust and some okay but pretty curbed si's on it for almost 8 grand. I emailed him "are you serious" I found an 2000 SI totally original with 110,000 miles for the same amount and I just laughed to myself.

 

Any car can set on fire though. Especially when some one who doesn't know what they are doing doesn't ground something. you can't really say one car starts on fire more than another car, ya know? My buddy bought an integra and when we got it home after a 2 hour drive the starter started on fire because it hadn't been grounded properly

 

you should look at some of the california craigs list adds for civics and integras. its ALMOST impossible to find a dc or db for less than $2000. it could be missing things, dented, faded, on steelies, nasty interior, etc but will be way over priced.

i can think of only 2 usdm hondas that have the right to be more expensive than others.

me and my girlfriend were lucky enough to have a 95 si with a b16a swap but have since sold it.

what i really want to see here in cali is the CRX Exclusive edition, if you havent heard of it, look it up and you'll be amazed.

 

dude your smokin somethin! back in 89, the kouki 240 was 155hp and a 2.4ltr. the hp/torque only increased later on with the chuki and zenki.

oh yea they were only SLIGHTLY heavier than EF civics.

someone told me it was rare, its only that way due to either production numbers or how many were actually sold.

Ya. There are a decent amount up here in WA. I saw the most perfect Eg SI at school the other day. Had the original wheels and everything. I was so happy.

They probably didn't sell that many because of Integra's switching body styles and people starting to lean towards Acura

 

the back seat looks kinda shitty. it looks like a plastic seat at mcdonalds. They need like a tray or something to compliment the colors

 

they are still expensive down here...like 5g's at least for a decent looking eg si.

looks like im gonna be getting either a d16z6 block, or b18a/b ls block to start building up. future plans are to buy a shell of probably an eg and drop that **** in there. gonna go turbo! this will take time tho since i dont have money just to start dumping into it.

just dont know if i want to go with a straight LS, or an LS/vtec...whatever top end i get, i will have everything ported and polished and then block decked down a couple mil's for higher compression.

 

I kinda want to do an LS build. N/A, cams, pistons the whole shabang.

 

i've been talking about this for a while now. but i think i'de be able to pull it off now. i have an engine lift, just need to get a stand.

 

im actually more familiar with DOHC stuff and only recently got into SOHC. this is what me and my girlfriend have gone thru in the past couple years.
