That two tone is clean looking, makes me think about swapping out the grill too. If anything a new paint job. Recent shots after a wash.

MrVillie
those wheels make the car
do u know how much each wheel weighs? i have a penchant for sturdy light weight wheels
however, i think u should keep the oem grille which matches the window drip mouldings and get a real oem SiR lip.

Thanks, the wheels weigh 12.3 lbs each (according to the vendor). Can't say i've personally put them on a scale. I'd like to refresh the black plastic behind the grill though since it's faded terribly along with the wipers. Real lip on order

nah not really, but you can see scoring on parts of the interior portion of the trans casing where the diff is housed. you can also see that the alignment of the diff isn't true, and observe a chunk fragment of metal that broke off sitting on the interior floor surface of the diff area. i disregarded the whole trans as broken beyond repair and haven't looked any further into it. i wonder when and why it happened, cuz the problem slowly came on over the years IIRC.

sweet! i'm hoping it wasn't the type of problem where it's wearing away at a item slowly but surely. that would guarantee that i got particles of material well embedded into the critical contact surfaces over a long period of time, translating into premature wear tear and noise. i definitely want to investigate the root cause of the fault, and i hope it's not that bad but in my mind i know it's most likely not a trans i would want to deal with long term. i wish i had more experience opening up manual trannies, they're just so damned bulletproof! (with the exception of syncros in the hands of a less trained individual ).

considering that if it repairable and if repaired correctly.. then re-using that tranny shouldnt be an issue.. but i can understand your point.. anywho im on for sat.. count me in forsure
