Re: ** The offical 96-00 civic 4dr thread ** PART 2
hey fellas its been a while since ive posted in this thread... i've missed hundreds of pages lol.
my el is still out with an exploded heart so i've been researching the replacement... you guys think this is a good price for all this...$1600?
D16z6 block
D16ZC head
Cometic gasket kit (with head gasket)bnib
CP pistons, .20 over BNIB
Eagle rods BNIB
Clevite. Rod bearings, thrust washers, crank bearing. BNIB
Supertech block guard BNIB
Polished bran new oil pump. OEM
ARP head studs BNIB
MSD Ignition with external coil.
AEM fuel rail BNIB
just wanna build the head while im at it too.
the compression ratio is lower then I wanted for my JRSC, its 8.5:1... i guess i can run a less agressive tune and lessen my chance of detonation. I was hoping to push at least 10psi out of it and get above 200whp

Good morning guys! Took the 95 to e-check, as the guy said "Wow, never seen a 95's engine running this strong" (d16z6) I was happy, especially since I need a new exhaust.
Have a good day everyone!!

you think 10psi is too low for 8.5:1? I'm still kinda a newb at figuring this stuff out.. some recommended to me 10.5:1 and a wet shot of nos to avoid detonation but I can't be doing that on a DD lol

Those blowers aren't really meant to generate a lot of boost. Try to get as much as you can while still being efficient. You want to reach the point of diminishing returns. Heat is the enemy when it comes to boost. If the blower produces a lot more heat at higher boost levels you run a higher risk of detonating. You want good boost but not at the cost of additional heat.
