Db6 - those are clean.
Slim - i was thinking about filming my drive home last night after driving thru a tunnel filled with lights. It looked cool and i wanted to capture it on film. I might do it once i figure out how to mount a digi cam in the cabin.

Some interesting things I recently learned. When it goes mach 3, the heat makes the frame stronger by re-tempering it every time. The body could theoretically last forever. When it's flying, it flys at a nose up angle because the air ahead of it is being pushed away by a shock wave so it's not really cutting the air like other planes. When flying at supersonic speeds, the fuel efficiency is maximized and the engines actually work less than when not supersonic. To conserve fuel, they speed up and gain around 80% more efficiency out of the motor when at mach 3+ due to air ramming. Air ramming at supersonic speeds is also a interesting topic.

lulz
ok so back in august i purchased a set of oem window visors and mugen style rear spats from a fellow on here. the package was delivered, but perhaps to the wrong address.. filed a claim in early september and have been waiting for it to complete ever since. in the meantime i gave up on the parts and ordered an oem rear lip which is sitting around waiting to get painted. just spoke to ups and they found the package and i'll be receiving it tomorrow. d'oh. the visors i can keep... anyone interested in purchasing some rear spats?? haha

^Lulz is right. I keep joking that a set of those pops up somewhere whenever I really can't spend the money. I would take them off your hands in a sec if I wasn't about to be on unemployment.
That's a cool pic of that f18 actually passing through the sound barrier!
Oh and that blackbird is technically a yf-12... It has the round nose required to fit a fire control radar instead of the sr-71's flat nose, and it was designed to carry short range nuclear missiles instead of camera equipment. The usaf gave it to nasa for experiments in the early 70's after they cancelled the fighter side of the program. The last remaining one is in the airforce museum at Wright-Patterson afb in Dayton... I still make it a point to stop there if I get to Ohio to see my family up there!
And speaking of nasa, I put in an application with the research engineering department at ksc... fingers crossed
