** The offical 96-00 civic 4dr thread ** PART 2
Re: ** The offical 96-00 civic 4dr thread ** PART 2
GMG guys.
Is anyone using the horn on their aftermarket steering wheel. I saw couple diy threads but it doesn't look safe to have all the wires exposed.
Anyone has a different idea or technique for this issue?

port, cyber -thanks for the info and link
viskii-i actually ran a new wire from the harness under the steering collum but make sure your wire is a lil long so it doesnt bind when you turn

that's not bad idea but over time there is a chance the wire would get tangled up.
I was thinking of using the windshield water switch. Run the power from the switch to the horn and ground it on the chassis.

a contact plate is not a bad idea, in fact many manufacturers use that method to activate the horn. the switch does not sound like a bad idea either, but doesn't sound natural. i mean when someone cuts you off at least for me i've found i naturally reflex slap my hands to the center of the wheel. if you were to run a wire, it would wear out over time from all the flexing and bending when you turn. how does the back of your horn and wheel look like? as far as safety, you should be ok since the circuit is for the horn only. worst case scenario would be your horn stays on forever.

hey mike, im currently sitting in my car right now figuring how to get these 4dr integ seats into the 4dr, im a lil lost, the back rest wont bolt to anything. any help on what to do exactly/
Re: ** The offical 96-00 civic 4dr thread ** PART 2
what are you working with Dropeasy? what kind of seats? pics? the seats i used are 2 piece, i have no experience with the 5 piece rear seats (2 seat backs, seat cushion, and 2 side bolsters).
Re: ** The offical 96-00 civic 4dr thread ** PART 2
ahh.. no wonder, yeah mines is the 5 piece, its the gsr 4 door cloth, its same as my front seats if you remembered. im sitting next to my fuelpump trying to figure it out. theres this bracket kinda close to the middle that gets in the way

that's the 60/40 split anchor, do your Integra seats have a 60/40 split? IIRC the anchor is spot welded on at 4 points (maybe 6), i went ahead and removed my anchor since my seat back is a one piece. do the side bolsters pop in?
Re: ** The offical 96-00 civic 4dr thread ** PART 2
yeah my back piece is a one piece, it doesnt have the split. yeah the anchor is the spot that is in the way. the bolsters goes in fine, seems to have a lil more space towards the door. how do you remove the anchor? do i need a special type of equip

Moose, looking good! Gotta love a freshly washed green sedan. I finally got to wash mine today (no pics thoough) and man the green really pops when its clean.
Re: ** The offical 96-00 civic 4dr thread ** PART 2
You just need a spot weld drill bit and a cold chisel and hammer. Lots of patience. What are you doing with the locking mechanism?
Re: ** The offical 96-00 civic 4dr thread ** PART 2
