Re: ****HT's Official Em1 Crew Thread****
picked up some blox type c's tonight, seibon carbon front lip, oem fog yellow fog lights, 70mm bbk throttle body and arp headstuds. waiting on my buddy to bring me a spare CF hood he has :D
in trade for a b16 tranny with no diff, lol.
looks like the new build is looking something like this
ls/vtec
b18b1 block
stock bottom end (maybe, debating about ctr pistons and na or going forged and boosting it)
CMH block guard
Golden eagle ls/vtec kit
arp headstuds
gates racing timing belt (same as greddy, etc)
b16 head
supertech springs/retainers
blox type c cams
skunk2 intake manifold
70mm bbk throttle body
Fugen (lol) valvecover
Cam gears of some sort
aem or erl fuel rail (have both, motor came with aem)
aem fpr (might sell it and run my aeromotive)
thermal intake manifold gasket
dc 4-2-1 ceramic coated header (came with motor, probably gonna sell)
Mugen thermostat
Mugen fan switch
LS Tranny
Competition Clutch 9lb Flywheel
Competition stage 5 clutch
Now debating between FI and NA. Just cant seem to get a 100% accurate answer on what ctr pistons in an ls/vtec is compression wise... some people say 12.5 some say 13.35. and it also seems like a **** load of work to make 200hp and be on the ragged edge of 93.
probably more I cant think of at the moment

Thanks bro. cop some!
whoever told you 13.35 is on some good **** lol.
stock bore ls vtec with pct pistons with yield roughly 12.25:1
now if you use a 2 layer spoon or mugen HG then you bump it up to just under 12.5
To answer your question, think about what you want out of the car. something quick around town or spinning tires for the hell of it. lol

Go with ITR pistons with your build Wantboost. Aren't they lower in compression with your parts?
I missed this car yesterday at the autox. I would have loved to have seen it, but take a look at who got first overall.

while 190-200whp na would be stupid fun, i would be right on the ragged edge of 93 octane reliability... while the pistons would be free (my buddy has a set he doesnt need) I've always been a turbo guy and have everything here to boost my car but a manifold and downpipe. i could easily make 350 with my setup without breaking a sweat.
I also just found out theres an e85 station 13 miles from my house. while not ideal it would mean moar powah lol.
I also found a semi-complete set of omni valve springs and ti retainers in my garage... buddy had them in his motor and an inner spring snapped on the dyno. I'm gonna call omni and see if I can just buy the 3 missing springs and retainers... maybe
