It is a tube and fin design, and here is a pic from another member in an EK.
(this is the 24x12x3 size, but fitment would be similar on the 21x9x3).

hey i have a 2000 civic. i wanna install an intercooler without having to remove the front bumper support. do u guys have an intercooler witha perfect size for me to put on

i woulda get the 21x9x3 but im not sure if the height is too tall. u guys should make a 21x6x3

We have a 18x6x2.5" sizes for people who want to keep the rebar.
That's the only model we have that is short enough to clear without any cutting.

Any intercooler taller than 6" will require some cutting to fit, regardless of the brand. It's just one of those things with the H/A platform...
