did you try on this cam to retard/advance it one tooth so you can get the timing to line up.. or are you saying you've not gotten it right with your old cam and it ran like poo?
i would atleast try to give her one tooth and see what happens at the dizzy. like i said i have had this same problem before. it seemed to be lined up, but it's really not.
