well, I was thinking of getting one for when I go turbo in the summer. It seems cheaper than switching to obd1 and then getting hondata. i kinda of just wanted to know how it compares witht the other options for tuning.

I once looked at ZDyne instead of going OBD1 but, I then did the conversion and ran Uberdata and saved a ton of money. Isn't Zdyne like $800 or so? If you have any Zdyne questions do a search under LS_REX and PM him. He runs zdyne and has had very good luck w/ it. He's also pretty knowledgeable.

Re: (red_crx)
i'm in the same boat as you. i have to decide if i want to switch and run uberdata or buy a used zdyne. the cost of going obd-1 and using uberdata is made up of the following parts;
obd-1 ecu(p28)
adapter harness($125 from jason)
obd-1 distributer.
4 wire o2 sensor
plus chip burner, misc other stuff.
uberdata is basically hondata, plus or minus a few things... so whatever hondata can do uberdata can pretty much do (not everything)
anyway zdyne is nice cause it is plug and play, tune on the fly, etc...
however uberdata is getting more and more good features, datalogging, tune on the fly... etc... so in the future uberdata will be hard to beat price wise. hth
if you buya new zdyne and load it up with options, it gets expensive close to an aem ems from camp 1320, for that coin you could run uberdata and buy a nice wideband.

I have been using zdyne for 1.5-2 years now (I forget exactly now). First on my zc, and now on my current b-setup. It's an okay unit. The ease of the interface is nice, along with some of the features you can have put in when you purchase it. The biggest downside to me is the lack of updates/features/anything at all officially from zdyne. Sometimes using the zdyne is like taking a time machine back to late '99, early 2000, because nothing has changed since then. If they were to come out with some new software/firmware/something (datalogging would be nice for example, but I hear is physically impossible with this unit). I've heard the lack of updates is because the owner/creator of zdyne only does this in his spare time (as a technical "hobby" of sorts). No idea if this is any truth to this story or not, but I do know they're always helpful if you contact them. If you have any specific zdyne questions, feel free to PM me and I'll tell you what I can.

Re: (underpressure02)
On the zdyne website they talk about the vtec option which allows you to swap a vtec head on to a nonvtec car, and if you use it you dont have to deal with swaping ecu's. I thought this was cool because im doing a ls-vtec turbo build on my da integra, and if i use zdyne then i will not have to switch ecu's and find a seprate engine management because it all comes in one.

Re: (USDM 4G VTEC)
I have sold and tuned 30+ Z dyne units, I love them as they work , Period!
I just tuned Scooters Type R with a Z dyne SECU with 880s cc injectors. Took an hour and runs perfect. We made 390 whp on pump gas with a very mild timming map.
I have converted many OBD -1 and 2 cars to run Z dyne as it works so well and I have no come backs.
IM me if you need one , I load them with a pretty close base map to the set up needed.

Not much at all.
Used dizzy-$75 shipped
Used 4 wire-$10 (from J -yard)
Socketed p28- $110
JK Harness- $120 ( I think, might have been less)
Moates Burn1- $80
Misc. Stuff- $30
Uberdata- FREE (+ donation to the creators)
Total: $425
Of course, in order to tune correctly you will have to spend more money (ie: Wideband, laptop, misc. cables etc.) but, you would have to get those items w/ any of the manangement systems and we are just talking about initial cost here.
