ZC Boost Question
I'm in the process of installing a TC05-12A Starion turbo on my DOHC ZC engine. I need to know what the max amount of boost I can run before I will have to upgrade the pistons and rods?

Re: ZC Boost Question (ZC_CRX)
I've hear people say they run 10 lbs on a ZC. With the right amount of fuel and tuning, and an intercooler, I think you could maybe do that, but I wouldn't recommend over 8 or 9. Even then, you'll need to be pushing a lot of fuel. Unless you're goind zdyne or something stand alone of some sort, the stock fuel pump probably won't cut it. Mine wouldn't even hold for 5lbs (although most will). Make sure you have a boost gauge and a/f or exhaust temp gauge. You'll probably need a high ratio on the FMU also.
Also, a guy I talked to a while back swore up and down that he was running 14lbs on a stock ZC motor with no problems for over 6 months. So I could be way off. There again, with really good tuning there may be enough of a lack of stress to allow it.

Re: ZC Boost Question (ZC_CRX)
I ran the boost gauge off of the vacume for that diaphram thing up by the throttle body. Remember, it has to be air tight even under boost. I used a brass T with hose barbs on two of the sides (to put it in line with the diaphram's hose) and a 1/8" connector for the actual vacume line on the other T. Teflon all of the fittings.
