So i had a D15B7 that i turbod and tuned for 12psi....i set it at 10psi to be safe....well after a year of getting beat on it finaly blew...

...i swaped in a Y7 bottom end that i had laying around in my basement...everything runs smooth....although i noticed my oil press was runnin around 25psi at 4K warm???? my B7 would be at 25psi at idle and about 70psi at the higher rpms...

...now i have search on shimming the spring in the oil pump to up press, but i did come across something about shimming the pressure relief valve to up it by 10psi...first question is where is the pressure felief valve at...2nd what would be better to do, shim the spring or the valve, and who has actually done this and seen a raise in press...oh ya i'm runnin royal purple 10w40 thanks-Pat

mine ran at 20psi at iddle...sometimes a lil lower..

What really matters is that when you floor it the oil pressure rises quickly.. Mine went up to like 80 at Full Throttle and 18PSI of boost

 

Yeah my y7 bottom end sees very little oil pressure at idle, but once you blip the throttle even slightly it shoots up to 50psi.
