I will def save up for a good brand next time.

and you guys are all making how much tq? cause im making 260wtq and the clutch is NOT holding, they advertise 278tq so i guess its not like there lieing too much... but still, i would NOT buy again.

got a stage 3 last year w procharger 14 psi 320whp 210lbs and made a year of drag racing and driving launching at 7800 on 24.5 mickey it alway grip as well....stage 3 w flywheel...
now i have a stage 5 from xtd and will see next summer how it does with more whp..

i did but like 25 kit since and no custumer never brake anything ...most of them drag racer ...

the only problem one was w a cable transmition and a hydro clutch kit ythe pressure plate made the same as the pics in the first page...

for the price it s really good go for the stage 5 if you are putting down a lot of power....it s a special order but they can do it ,,

here a video http://smg.photobucket.com/alb...1.flv

hope this will close this thread ...

good luck buddy

i guess its the fact that im making a lot more tq than the rest of you guys, that might explain why mine is starting to slip, 260wtq. its not that high. but if you realize its 306 tq at the flywheel i guess thats a lot for the clutch...

you wont break a stage 4 ....or 5 ...if you are running a stage 3 i think your tq is too much for a stage 3....

The XTD "stage 3" has a generic stock spec pressure plate. The stage 4+ have the higher clamploads, but I still don't know if I would trust it. My pressure plate was lifting on my setup and the clutch wouldn't hold (new flywheel, new xtd s3 clutch kit) at the dragstrip, just slipped when on 24.5 tall BFG drag radials. I called them up and they wouldn't do anything about it other than try to sell me a stage 4 clutch which is what they say you have to have with turbo....screw that...

Now I'm using an ACT 6puck unsprung w/ ACT HD PP now with NO issues EVER, holds perfect and I drive it every single day Another great clutch is competition clutch

friend made 320-365hp and 300-330trq in his drift car (1jz cressida) and his xtd lasted just over a year daily driving, always drifting, many track events, clutch kicking etc. My friends boosted KA-T 240 didnt hold his trq from the start (250ish maybe). We have been using them a lot in corollas or seeing them used a lot and they work great NA. But for FI cars i would really just buck up and buy an act or something along the lines. Spend 400 now, or spend 150 then spend another 400 when the xtd doesnt do what you thought it would.

I ran one as a back up on my car last year. I was making 300whp not sure about tq but im guessing around 200 and it would slip on me sometimes. Oddly enough it would hold fine at the track but not on the streets for highway pulls.

with all these hit or miss issues, why not fork out the extra $100 or so and get a good clutch from a reputable company and be done with it. I don't know about you guys but I don't find reasons to crawl under my car and buying this clutch sounds like a very good chance to spend even more money for a good clutch and R&R the assembly again which isn't fun at all.
