Default wrap vs. coating

May be the wrong place but i have a afi sidewinder that im going to install on my rsx and im keepin all factory accessories. Im lookin for opinions and any concrete temperature readings or results on surface temperatures on manifold coating and wrapping before and afters.. And what coating if any (Company wise) would be best. coat and blanket the hotside?

IMO. Coating It's more expensive but it's better then wrap..

Coating hands down is better, wrapping it will trap moisture in, promote cracking and rust.

whats the average surface temperature on that car? tryin to keep from having to reroute wiring and coolant hoses as much as possible... also would coating hotside and run a blanket be a bad idea? i see most coating companies say not to wrap on top of coating didnt know if it fell in the same relm

wraps will hold in heat and possibly crack the welds..yet some havent cracked and some have.. your experience might be one of these.

i would do coating if i had the option. but thats my .02

coatings are better if you get engine on oil heat wrap it could start oil fire in your engine bay.

I did the some coating myself and actually felt a noticeable difference putting my hand next to the header.

used same coating as in the h-t thread pretty nice if you broke its cheap.

I use a coating on the turbine housing, wastegate, and manifold while wrapping the downpipe and dumptube. I also run a turbo blanket now. IMO the best investment for a street turbo car!
