Default Is it worth dropping a Turbo in a 01 Civic LX? D17a engine

I want to add alot more power to my car, but is it really worth dropping 3k into a turbo kit for a 01 Civic LX with a D17a engine? Or would I need to do a engine swap?

depends on how much more power you are wanting to get.

I own a 03 civic ex and was thinking about the same thing. I am a big D series guy but the issues with the EM2 gen civic is that there is only two was of tuning it. K-pro and AEM, which both will cost around a grand alone. I would just do a K series swap and call it a day.

If you're up for the labor, there wouldn't be any problem with it. It'd make about as much sense as someone boosting their D15 in a 95 Civic Sedan. Oh wait, I am boosting it. Just gotta do what you want. And you will def notice a big improvement.

I wouldnt bother but there are a couple pretty quick ones. I'd just bolt-on a 75 shot.

I think the adage of
"Even if you polish a turd it's still a piece of ****." applies here.
