Default Wiring fuel pump to alternator...

Im trying to figure out whats the best possible way to wire my fuel pumps to the alternator. I have a walbro 400 intank feeding a bosch 044.

Should I use the relays to activate the ground and wire the power to the alternator's ring terminal? Would the pumps prime like this? Also what amperage fuse should I use? Still a 30-40 amp fuse for each pump?

Is it as simple as this and Im just overthinking it? I dont want to fry anything, thats all, lol

The pumps wouldn't prime since with the engine off there would be no voltage... Also since the alternate output varies with rpm you would never have consistent fuel flow and due to the constant voltage fluctuation you risk burning up the pumps. Not to mention the unregulated amperage flow... If you were to give all the amperage of a 150 amp alternator to the pumps they would just blow up

Just hardwire them to the battery and be done with it. Much more stable voltage and amperage flow

Oh really? I=E/R The pump will consume the same current regardless of where wired, the battery has MUCH more current capacity than the alternator can produce at once. And Honda alternators are internally regulated.

I absolutely agree that running a battery is the best option. Are you trying to reduce weight? Have you looked into lithium ion batteries?

run it off the battery. use the factory pump wire to trigger the relays for the 2 pumps.

10 gauge wire from the battery to relay. Use factory pump power wire to trigger relay on/off. Ground to chasis. Use inline fuse if you want to. Works like stock.

Buddys went bad within a month. But that was a "non e85" walbro 400. I guess they make a walbro 450lph now which is good for e85.

It looks like he took your correct spelling of Walbro and made sound like a subdivision in NY.

The aeromotive stealth install instructions calls for a direct alternator connection, what are the advantages of that?

hurs a thread-

seems all bs though.

I have no money for phone calls. I'm at the library using the free hour of internet eating 99c kimchi.
So if anyone can actually answer the question I'll send my blessings your way.
One love.

If using a relay why does it matter where you get the 12v power source from? Alternator, battery, starter all have the same 12v engine off and 14v engine running. It seems like a moot point to be honest. Just wire it in the easiest way possible and be done with it.
