Default will my car still run with a hondata ecu with no chip???

im going to break my engine with stock injectors, so i will be running my stock ecu(p72). my question is can i get it socketed and prepped for hondata but just not put the chip in and not plug the interface box in. i know some jumpers get cut and added so i was wodering if it would still run like stock???

As long as you have a chip on that socket(stock program) you'll be fine..... Otherwise you car won't run.

It will run stock if you cut J1.

so if i have an open socket, it wont run??? how is that different from stock??? there is no chip in there now (just no socket). will any of the cut jumpers effect it??

when you have an open socket, and J1 is jumped you will have a solid CEL and the car will run in limp mode. J1 tells the ECU to run the car from the new socket, instead of the stock location.

All you need to do is cut J1/make sure it isnt jumped and the stock ECU will run, as it wont try and read the open socket.
