Default Will JB Weld for intercooler supports hold??

as for the topic says... i was wondering if JB weld for the intercooler supports will hold up?

I would't suggest it. Its an epoxy and not really a weld. Its just colored to look like it. Take it to a muffler shop or some place that has a welder and get them to put a nice bead on it. It should take a good 5 minutes and they may not even charge you for it.

most intercoolers are aluminum muffler shops are set up for steel. Incompatible. I have had aluminum welded at a local factory by the mantenence man. He had to sneak it in. Most machine shops weld aluminum. JB might hold for a while but who wants to count on that crap.

true...... but the only shops i know of in my area in socal charge for sure... they're not really that charitable type

Do it right the first time, or do it twice. It shouldn't cost over $20, if that!

i bought a spearco intercooler for my first setup from another ht member and it had some brackets jb welded on. when i mounted the intercooler up and was getting ready to put the bumper on for fitment, the intercooler broke free of the jb weld and hit the ground with a loud as smack. fortunately the ic wasn't damaged. so i wouldn't recommend jb weld. just my .02
