Ideally you would want something with more tubes and shorter tubes, like 2.75 x 12 x 12, and make sure the endtanks flow nice and aren't some square clunky homemade POS.

I think you are referring to the JRC (Johhnyracecar.com) IC right?
I have that one too. It's a great deal for the price and for up to 300whp it should be OK. After that you'll probably need a better one. He also sells one that's even bigger for $195. I'd get that one then you may be able to do 325 or more it just depends on the setup. I think one guy made 350whp on the one you were refering to above, but don't expect that. He probably had higher IAT's and could do a lot more HP if he used a bigger IC.
IMO that'll work for your target HP...but no more

The core of this one is that size. The size on this website is the total with end tanks which makes it bigger. Either way like I said it looks OK for 300WHP, but that is definately the limit for it .

Re: will this intercooler be big enough (adseguy)
Hello,
I have a question that might be on the same topic. I saw before that people weld two intercoolers together, meaning that for example I have seen two little ones and just weld the middle part and end cores to make a BIG one...
My question is...is there a downfall with this setup? or is it ok to do that? I heard that its bad because there is no "smooth flow" vs if it were of course one BIG intercooler..
Thanks in advance...
regards,
hb
Something like this...(i got this pic somewhere I forgot)

That entirely depends on witch type of core and endtanks that will be used.
A pic would give us more info
