Yes, it can be socketed or chipped like a p28.

Yet, at the same time, no. It won't work with Hyundaidata.

Unless hondata has a basemap that works with the vx ECU, it wont work...it can be socketed though...but thats about it.

actually, I believe it CAN be made to work. Talk to Vernon from RaVer motorsports - he's running one on his turbo H22 I believe.

Have you guys seen the chipset on the P07? It is entirely different than the P28, P06, or the P74/75. Not only is the board different, the VX has a five wire o2, which could be converted of course, but it's not the same as the others.

I'm not sure on how it works but I do know they can be chipped like any p28. I didn't know there was a difference in running Hondata with one though.

I suspect he tweaked the P07 code, then, because the second MCU that controls the WBO2 keeps polling the main processor with interrupts which freaks it out when chipped with normal OBD1 Civic/Integra code. Runs odd, intermittant VTEC, etc.

Then again, this is Vernon. He probably found some hardware trick... again.

But, yeah, sux for Hyundaidata.

well.. i don't have a local Hondata dealer within 60 miles, so i think its out the window.. i talked to the local tuner, and he said, since im only going 6-7 PSI, i can get away with a FPR and a VAFC. so i think thats the way im going to go.

Reread the thread, perfectly intelligible.

Nope, same exact conflicts with Ubercrap. Where do you think I draw my Hyundaidata conclusions from? Never been wrong either, because the codebase is 99% the same because it is 99% stock Honda code for both Hyundaidata and Ubercrap.

as far as I know the VX(po7) ecu is different than the p05 and p28, and can't be used for uberdata

I've heard that some work, and some don't. Depending on board revision.

However, I defer to J.Davis's judgment.

some VX ecu's have 4 wire o2's and some have 5 wire o2's..Iam currently running a 4 wire VX ecu on a 500+ whp civic VX with hondata and a fully built gsr engine..yes it works on some VX ecu's.

I've never seen a 4 wire P07. I have six of the 5 wire sort - they get plugs yanked to build pass thru harnesses.

I know...but I was giving him a cheaper option (actually a free option) since he stated that there weren't any dealers or tuners of honDUHta in his area.

I also think James (HRT) was dabbing into the VX ECU hardware. No news from that little project. We've all been busy I tried toying around with a P07 with a couple of tweaked basemaps a couple of months ago, ended up with a solid CEL each time, but the car ran fine...surprisingly.

What years did the 4 wire VX come out? Always thought they were the 5 wire 02 type. Could it be a spawn of a P27 ECU?

I did some checking here at work and in fact in 94-95 there was two options for exhaust manifolds and o2 sensors one being a 4-wire.

The part number for the 4-wire o2 P07 ecu should be 37820-P07-L02. The 5-wire ecu should be a 37820-P07-A01. Either that or the other way around but the 5-wire ecu is over $1000 and the other one is only $700.
