Default will B18A oil pan work with B16A

Well I have my turbo kit sitting here and I cant install it because my oil pan has a slow leak. A buddy has an 90-93 b18a ls pan for me. Has anyone put a b18a on a b16a. Will this be ok? Any problems?
Thanks

I always thought they were identical. They just don't fit on engines like the b18c because of the girdle.

Of what I remember hearing is that non vtec oil pans pick ups are not in the same spot as vtec oil pans. Check into that though!

No they don't! GSR's and H22's have block girdles. Z-10 Engineering recently started making them for B16's. I remember because back then they tested it on Kubo's car.

My 90 LS oil pan is 100% identical to my B16a oil pan (late 90s JDM motor).
So yes, it will work.

Yup I am using a b18b LS pan on my b16a, and the pans are absolutely identical.

As far as block girdles goes, i have/had 4 b16a blocks each of which were stripped down and none have had factory block girdles. I havent gotten my hands on a 99/00 Si block, but i would only assume that they dont have girdles on them. The sol's didnt, i have two of those blocks sitting here at my house right now...girdle free.

B16B's have a block girdle. Not the B16A's just to clear things up The B16B is just a destroked ITR/GS-R block anyways, so thats why it has a block girdle.

No. You'll need ; GS-R/ITR Oil pan, oil pickup, windage tray, and the 6 GS-R main bolts that go into the girdle.

Instead of a Z-10 you could use the stock GS-R/ITR girdle.

Go here to see how

well the z10 girldle is already in the b18 block with the gs-r main bolts, oil pickup, and windage tray but my motor is still at the shop so i havent had a chance to see if the oil pan will work.so i guess i will need a gs-r oil pan. crap.
