Wideband Needed or Not?
Just a quick question ive had on my mind for a couple days. I was wondering if a wideband is necessary seeing as my tuner says he has plenty of widebands to tune the car with. Do I need a personal wideband? If so which one should I get?
You don't have to have one, but its good to have as a safety measure to keep your eye on it. It can help you save your motor if something goes wrong causing you to run lean. The innovate LC1 is a good cheap wideband.
Hey I just noticed your in Columbia, Where are you planning on getting tuned? I'm building a motor right now, should be done in a couple months and gonna need a good tuner.
I Suppose. Been running 12 years Turbo Honda without it. Unless I'm the tuner, I don't need it. All it does is scare people when they let off the throttle while on the highway because it reads 15.2 for a split second. Yes, you need one for actual tuning, but after that, if he's not a good tuner, you'll know something's wrong regardless of what the gauge says. If you can't shut it down fast enough (and no one ever can), its not the most helpful. I look at oil pressure being the most important.
Hey 90ZCREX I am from columbia youve probably seen my hatch sitting in the yard its a yellow hatch. And Shodan thanks man I was contemplating if I needed a wideband all day cause I have had a few friends tell me not to drive the car without a wideband on board

If its turbo put one on it, there cheap enough for added insurance. Shodan is correct you dont nessesarly need it if you have a good tuner but its nice to have to keep an eye on things. I fyou live in a climate thats constantly changing then tune may be a little off when weather changes and could need adjustment which you will see on the wideband reading really rich or lean in boost
