where should i put the bunghole at for the sensor?

anywhere before the cat (if you have one). idealy somewhere around the stock O2 sensor location.

18"+ away from the turbo is a good idea for the bosch sensor.

Yep, don't put it too close to the turbo outlet. This will heat the sensor beyond its ideal heat range and throw-off the AFR reading, damage it, or 'cause an error message depending on the controller.
