I have thought the same thing but some people don't think about the fact that it's used and should be less. All they think about is that they need to try and make their money back. Most people say, "It was only used 1 month so it's practically brand new. Here's your chance to own a new turbo for $100 less than new!" In actuality, if something is used it should be significantly less than the new price. Supply and demand.

most people will throw in extras which to them justify the cost of their kits.
most quality kits brand new can be bought for near $3000. the max-rev kit is incomplete so keep that in mind. the lowest prices i've seen on new revhard/drag kits are usually in the area of $2800-$2900
but i do agree, some of the prices are insane. but it's worth what a buyer is willing to pay.

the revhard comes with some extra's and has been for $2600 for a month now and will continue till dec.
the maxrev is for $2300 but you need to put in about $50 for welding and a good 3 hrs more in installation than the revhard and thats to figure out the pipping...
i expect new kits to go even less than $2300 since the economy is in a downfall.

With those kits coming with DIY inlet pipes, you still need to cut and weld up charge pipes and stuff. So for $2,300 you still have to spend $$$$, and don't always include everything you need in a kit. Extra gauges, computers, etc.

the maxrev kit doesn't include an FMU or inline pump but that's what I liked about it because I wasn't gonna use that stuff anyways.
