I don't personally run these turbos, but I have in the past without a problem using an oil restrictor. Several customers have come in with these and got them installed. Most of them think, hey if it last 6 months to a year whats another 150 for a brand new one. Its hard to argue with that knowing there modest power goals.

I can understand rocking cheap parts at first, people tend to learn a lot and in time learn the value of quality parts and why people run name brand components.

Well i have a question. Well lets say i buy a ebay turbo kit and then replace the turbo manifold and the turbo and intercooler with better quality parts. Would having the rest of the ebay parts be bad?

those are the 3 most expensive parts. cheap waste gates leak or cause spikes, cheap bov leak or dont hold pressure, why put only half quality parts on only to have the cheap **** cause still cause problems.....The only thing I would even recommend to you is the ebay IC piping.....budget builds can be done, just not with ebay parts....look for quality used parts and good deals in the classified section and just leave that chinese crap alone, trust me....I wish someone would of warned me all those years ago when it first started showing up.

If money is an issue than consider a nitrous kit, it will still go plenty fast, just a little inconvience having to fill the bottle

If you spend $500 for a full ebay kit and only use the parts that cost $200 tops from ebay - fmic, couplers/clamps, piping - you're not doing yourself a favor. Those are about the only things that would ever make it onto my car if I was in a REAL jam and that's all I had access to.

Nitrous is a good idea. You'd probably make more power than an ebay kit, and it would be 2 years before refills overcame the price of occationally replacing the turbo. They also sell nawzzz bottles on ebay right from china, if you don't mind they're not certified nor accepted at any refill place...

There is a universal truth when it comes to new parts on ebay. You get what you pay for.

I have heard so many mixed reviews on ebay turbos. Idk if the people who have good luck are getting them from the right ebay company, or if it really is just luck. My friend just put one in his saab today. If i were you, I'd get the 16g and maybe a rebuild kit in the future. The only ebay parts i would use are the piping, fmic, and clamps.

fundamentally to answer your question, that turbo is so cheap because it's tiny, and the boost gauge is the cheapest Autozone special.

Ebay turbo kits are cheap in the same way that Ramen noodles are cheap. They look like their more expensive counterparts, but you'll soon find out that they're not. My advice would be to stay away from it and save for a good setup. You can thank us later.
